Mr. Showtime
Not to start trouble, but how many times are you going to post this? I've grown quite tired of seeing these kinds of lists as well. Once they are in camp and we've seen some guys play, then fine. Right now, it's just way to early.
hold2dibber
Mark Buehrle Bartolo Colon Jon Garland Dan Wright Jon Rauch/Esteban Loaiza RP Kelly Wunsch Billy Koch Gary Glover Rick White Damaso Marte Gil Heredia Konerko Jimenez Valentin Crede Lee ??? Ordonez Olivo Graffy, Alomar, Daubach, Harris, Borchard. DL-Rowand. Rating Scale: of Kenny Williams (IMO!) 4 Stars With the recent flurry of activity recently, I think it's interesting and helpful to post these types of lists to take a big picture look at where the team stands. As to the list itself, you've left Flash Gordon out of the bullpen. What makes you think Rowand will start the year on the DL? Every report I've heard says he'll be ready for spring training (though he may be rustier than most because he's been able to hit over the off season). You also have Borchard on the roster, which I think is unlikely and not a good idea anyway (he'd be MUCH better served getting ABs in Charlotte than sitting on the bench in Chicago). So here's my version: Rotation: Buehrle, Colon, Garland, Wright, Rauch Bullpen: Koch, Marte, Gordon, White, Glover, and either Munoz, Wunsch or Loaiza Regulars: Olivo, Konerko, Jimenez, Valentin, Crede, Lee, Rowand, Ordonez, Thomas Bench: Alomar Jr., Rios, Graffinino, Daubach and Harris Heredia won't make the team, Ginter's going back to Charlotte, and Josh Paul will be released. baggio202
quit ragging on the guy for making a list...this isnt WSI..if we wanted that type of mentality we would stay over there...i actually liked the idea of this list because we have added so many to the roster and i wanted to see exactly how daubach fits in..hold2dibber looks like the list i like most...except for the KW 4 stars!!!..yuk.. i think he might be on to something with munoz..if we are gonna keep only 11 pitchers as the plan is now then can we afford a guy like wunsch that can only pitch to a batter or two??...we should have two lefties in the pen so does munoz , who has had a great year in both the summer and winter steal that spot from wunsch???...there is talk of him strecthing out to become a starter someday so i imagine going 2 or 3 innings if needed wont be a problem... looks like the 2 spots comes down to these three..rios , paul and daubach...paul contribution is he can catch and we are very weak..and if we send him to charlotte we could lose him...daubach brings consistent 20-75 - 275 to the table and a left bat..rios , brings a potential poor attitiude , i dont see him doing anything offensively that daubach doesnt do..the key for rios is can he play CF??..if he can then thats gives him something over daubach...otherwise i think he could be the odd man out... I know, get off wscs back. I made a 25 man roster too. I didnt do it to provoke opinion but just to show everyone nice and neat how I think the team stands. Thats all. WSC does the same thing. He made it just to show everyone where we are. I only do it every once in a while (after several big moves) but we need someone whos always ready to tell us where were at. I like ya lists WSC, keep it going...

Two points: (1) I didn't give KW the 4 stars - I'd give him 2.5, maybe a 3, for this offseason. (2) IIRC, Rios was given a major league deal whereas Daubach only got a minor league deal (go figure). What I think that means (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) is that the Sox have to pay Rios even if he doesn't make the team. Suggests to me that he will be heading North with the big club. I like Dib's list as well. I think that Wunsch will be the guy we carry and we won't go with any rookies until later in the season other then Rauch. Our bench is going to be way better then last year with Harris (Can play almost anywhere), Daubach (Lefty Power), Rios (lefty power), Graffy (Great util guy) and then Alomar. I like what I see. I also think the signing of Burke is the end of Josh Paul's career with the Sox unless he clears waivers. Now we have a guy that can step in if Alomar or Olivo goes down. Your right in your belief. Rios gets paid no matter what, Daubach won't. I'm sure Daubach has some amount that is guaranteed though and I don't know why he wouldn't be coming. witesoxfan
File signing Rios to a big league deal under failures for this offseason...because I don't think he should make the club. Then again, if KW actually were shopping around CLee or Thomas, then maybe signing Rios to a big league deal was worth it....then again, it may also be the end of KW's career as GM, if he were to trade Thomas. I just don't see the point in signing Daubach and Rios....especially if Daubach's was to a minor league deal and Rios's was not...could that mean we are shopping players around? That just makes me suspicious...either that, or KW is stupid at times....wait a second...

witesoxfan
That'd be nice...even if it is a prospect like Neal Cotts who may or may not be anything special...just a guy with potential. I'd be fine with that.....maybe a team like the Tigers or Royals will take a risk on a guy like Rios...maybe the D-Rays....not the Brewers though....stay the hell away from the Brewers.
