Wise Master Buehrle
If this happens.... I don't know. I'll just start hating people and start wishing certain people would die. COUGH STEINBRENNER COUGH.

southsideirish
Cashman denied it. Maddux never wanted to play for an AL team and he wants to be closer to his Vegas home. I highly doubt he signs with the Yanks. There is no premise to this story. It sounds a lot like Levine's last rumor about the Red Sox and ARod. Flash Tizzle
Cashman denied it. Did Cashman recently say this? Several websites and tv outlets are reporting Maddux to sign with the Yanks; as of 11:00 ct.
Jordan4life_2007
I'm hatin the Yankees more and more each minute...But i'd rather see Maddux go to ny then the dlubs. But this is really gettin pathetic with the Yankees. They r straight ruining baseball...
whitesoxfan99
Did Cashman recently say this? Several websites and tv outlets are reporting Maddux to sign with the Yanks; as of 11:00 ct. He said earlier today that the Yankees weren't interested in Maddux but that was before all of these reports started coming out. I don't think it would surprise anyone if the Yankees signed Maddux. Whats another 8 million or so in payroll when your payroll is already near 200 mil.
Flash Tizzle
How can Cashman not be interested in Maddux? I wish the Yanks would just buy his soul and get him out of our newspapers. Then I can laugh when the Chicago media b****es at the Cubs for not increasing their offer.
mac9001
LOL, Georgie will go crazy when the Yankees fail. There's just too much pressure now from them to succeed. I say ALCS, they won't get further than that. BTW, :fthecubs
Pastime
From what I'm hearing on the radio here in Chicago, this very well may go down before noon. Borasshole strikes again. It irritates me intensely - FOCK THE YANKEES!
Chisoxfn
Screw it, let the cubs have him, I don't want to see him giong to the Yanks. The Cubs winning the series may suck for Sox fans, but it would be great for baseball. The Yanks doing this would be terrible for the game, of course if the Yanks lost after all this, then thats another story. But the gap would just continue and continue to grow. Flash Tizzle
Sportscenter has teased the issue of a future hall of famer "not named rodriguez" joining the Yanks. Interesting to see if they say anything new about the Maddux situation.....

southsideirish
well dont post that..you should head over to the scrubs mlb board..they are suicidal...dont help them out Sorry, actually I was wrong. It is as much as done. From what I hear Cashman was not aware that Steinbrenner was already talking to Boras when Cashman said he wasn't interested. Strange on Maddux's part. I really don't think he was all that great last year. So where does he fit in? Who is out? Leiber? Contreras? Do one of them go to the pen? Flash Tizzle
Sportscenter claimed Yankees have made the most generous offer to Maddux at the same negotiations Cubs, Giants were part of. Interesting to note the Yankees have not had a starting left handed pitcher since 1992.
whitesoxfan99
Interesting to note the Yankees have not had a starting left handed pitcher since 1992. David Wells, Andy Pettite? Are you sure it didn't say this is the first time since 1992 they won't have a left handed starter?

I don't know about you, but if i were the so called GM, and you had an owner going out and just signing guys without even talking to the so called professional, I'd be feeling a little slighted. Then again, he did just give the ok to get Arod Still, I Think its reasons like that that the Yankees don't win, although Maddux would be a class guy for the Yanks, but its just more reason for me to root for absolute failure from those pricks known as the Yanks :fyou

Mussina 2. Brown 3. Vasquez 4. Maddux 5. Contreras Anyone falters Lieber gets a shot and if Lieber falters they go buy another top of the line starter.
