jasonxctf
to be a White Sox fan or a New York Mets fan and why?
winninguglyin83
Being a White Sox fan is a tougher assignment. Mets won the series in 1969 and 1986 and also made it in 1973. They spend money, often unwisely. But they spend on Piazza, Vaughn, Alomar, Camerson, Glavine and on and on and on. They know they're second banana in their home town, but they don't always simply throw up their hands and say 'What can we do about it?" And with the Mets, you can understand being Number two because the Yankees get the job done. Being number two to the Team I Can't Type is simply unacceptable -- but Sox management accepts it. The Mets also charge much higher ticket prices than the Sox do. If the Sox upped their ticket prices to the Mets level and also increased their payroll with the new revenues, would you support that move or have something else to complain about? jasonxctf
i wonder if the cost of living adjustment exceeds the ticket price? it's more expensive for everything in NY vs Chicago.. (However not as big of a difference as it used to be)
Steff
For s***s & giggles.. http://www.monstermoving.monster.com/Find_...alc/results.asp Salary Calculator Results Your Results: Chicago, Illinois $50,000 New York, New York $215,104 The cost of living in New York, New York is 330.2% higher than that of Chicago, Illinois. A salary of $50,000 in Chicago, Illinois has the same buying power that a salary of $215,104 has in New York, New York. That's a LOT more than I expected it to be. upnorthsox
Interesting, the cost of living is lower in Honolulu than it is in Lake Zurich. By 10%. I gotta go start packing.
Chisoxfn
to be a White Sox fan or a New York Mets fan and why? Mets fan, the Yankees actually have a history of winning. While the Sox haven't won squat, they do seem to have a better record then the Cubs every year (Although that probably won't happen the next few years). Edit: Screw that, its easier being a Mets fan, they've won the series and their ownership has spent ridiculous amounts of money on stupid players, but they do spend it. whitesox247
Mets have it alot harder. Its better to be hated than forgotten. We havent been through half of what Mets fans had to endure their whole lifetime.
