Tune into to Hear Meon the Radio!

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would let you know, every Tuesday Iam doing sports updates at Columbia Colleges radio station, WCRX. I am on from 3:30-5:40. You can hear me at the top and bottom of every hour. You can tune into 88.1 FM if you are near the loop, or go to http://www.wcrx.net/ and listen in. We are streaming over the internet. I hope you tune in and enjoy.

Thats cool stuff....do you happen to know Mario who also goes to Columbia college (aka Molto???).

I'll check in and listen.

Hey I know Mario. Well, Kind of. We had a class together a year ago, but I havent seen him around the radio department recently, so I have kind of lost track of him. He is a really cool kid. Him and I used to stand iin the hall during break and talk White Sox.

I'm sure he'll slowly notice this post and speak up

I didn't see the post till right after the final sports update, so I'll have to check it out next Tuesday, hopefully I remember.

So are you working on becoming a sports broadcaster?

what's up man? I responded to one of your first posts here but you must have missed it.

Anyway, congrats on being on air, any chance of you getting your own show or being a personality? that woudl be sweet.

I want to get into radio myself, but that means I'll have to take more production classes and learn all that stuff, which I'm terrible at. So I'll just stick to journalism and hopefully get into radio at a later time.

Anyway, how ya been? How long till ya graduate?

Hey Mario! I totally missed you when you responded to one of my first posts. Sorry about that.

As for a show, my original goal was to get an on-air show next year in the fall, however I think I am going to change my aim. I am currently taking the Sports Play-by-Play class and I really love it. So, I am hoping that next year I can do the UIC games that WCRX is broacasting. (We have a few selesct games that we get to broadcast with help from students at UIC) I knew a few guys who did it last year and they liked it, so I am going to give that avenue a try. If that doesnt turn up, than I am going to persue a show. Just as a side note, I am hoping to intern at The Score over the summer, so that might help me out more than hosting a show.

Personally, I am doing great. I got engaged in August, so I am really happy. (Planning a wedding for August of '05) I figured it would be better to get married after I graduate in the spring of '05. Other than that, my life is crazy. If I am not at school, I am at work out out with friends, so I try to get out of town one weekend every other month just to unwind.

wow, congrats on the whole marriage thing, I wish you the best.

I'm going to take that Sports Play By Play class before I leave, I've been meaning to but it has yet to fit in with my schedule (it overlaps with my Advanced Sports Reporting class). I hope to take that though either next semester or a year from now.

The internship with the score is a production one I take, right?

Speaking of the score, Where I'm working now, The Chicago Sports Review, George Ofman actually writes for us - not on the web, but for the magazine.

good luck with everything
