Herbert Perry

Heh, my mom and sisters loved him at kids day. They "touched" his hand. I loved the way he contributed for this team. Too bad we got rid of him.

Yes, he was certainly a guy to come through in the clutch when we had him. Getting rid of Perry when we did was one move I never understood.

Uh, because of Joe Crede, who's like a million times better than Perry will ever be.

I have to say... I was soooo (kinda) glad you posted that. I never ever heard another person (outside the Sox) claim to know that information. I hated that MF'er the second we signed him and knew something bad was going to happen.

And it didn't stop there.. he was also screwing Frank's ex girlfriend LeAnne.

Most of us here knew about K-layton banging Frank's ex. We talked about it before on these boards. As if most of us needed another reason to hate Choice K-layton right?????

And if K-layton went from Frank's ex-wife to his ex-g/f, the question has to be asked..... Does K-layton have some sort of Big Hurt fetish? Maybe K-layton likes the way Big Frank smells..... :headbang

As you can see.. I just got here December 2nd. And I didn't share this information on other boards I post at. It was just interesting to see it in print.

Sorry. Didn't notice that you registered in December. I'm still trying to figure this computer thing out myself. ;)

Damn...I never knew that about Royce and Frank's women. Let me say this is a whole new reason for me to call him a cancer, something I never have really said.

By the way Matthew...I'm gonna have to start using that I'm a defensive specialist line. Hell, I may not be Royce..but I can hit like him ;)

Who's to say it wasnt his fault? The minute the jagoff got into town he started f***ing frank's ex-wife. And no one better try to give me that "well it's his "ex" wife". This is the same b**** who milked him for eveything she could , bashed him on tv, then f***ed his team mate.  She was out there at comiskey in the stands, not to watch frank, but to watch royce k-layton. And Frank had to play the whole game knowing in teh back of his head that the woman who had his childeren was going home with his SS. the back stabbibng cancer that had a lot to do with this team goin in a downword spiral since say 1 that he got here. KW had a lot more to do with it.

Those are some of the reasons i'm glad he's gone.

:fyou  royce!

Gee RPS... tell us how you really feel ;)

Just to give us all something to talk about, and to rekindle some good memories, if anyone has any particular good Herbert Perry stories or memories, let's hear them.

My favorite memories of HP go back to the 2000-2001 seasons.

1.After helping the Sox go an unbelievable 7-0 in Cleveland and NewYawk that June, He came up huge in the clutch as Kip Wells beat Bartolo Colon 7-1 at Comiskey. HP homered and tripled off Colon in the win.

2.His September performance on a hot Sunday afternoon that helped the Sox rally to defeat the Halos.

3.In June of 2001,he started a winning rally off (then) Tigers reliver Todd Jones by singling over the head of 2nd baseman Damion Easley in the 10th inning. This after he'd fouled off 8-10 Jones deliveries. The Tigers walked Ray Durham, one of the hottest hitters on the team at that time.Konerko ended it when he homered to left off reliever Matt Anderson. That ball landed just shy of the left field concourse. It was a blast!!

The game or the homer? ;)

I guess my favorite Herbert Perry moment was a story...I watched the end of the A's/Sox game this year when Buehrle and Lidle dueled(a game in which the A's won 1-0) and there was a story about Herb...Koch was pitching for the Jays at the time and he came at Perry hard, like he always does, and Perry turned Koch around and sent the ball out of the park, and the Sox won.

Herb is a hell of a player....I wish we could have him back.

LOL.. I have to say.. I was a bit taken aback by your post. I was honestly surprised when I saw that you knew such details. When Crystal and I found out about it (which was the day of a players kids day at Brookfield Zoo) we nearly hamburgers our pants. I never spoke a word about it and when I saw Royce and her at a Naperville bar I nearly fell over (she recognized me and looked reeeallyy ashamed too). Frank was no saint... far from it, but he was not screwing her sister (the equivilant IMO). It was a nasty situation all around. It's too bad people can't act their age.

Thanks for all the kind words about My Beloved Herbert.

I couldn't buy a Perry t-shirt so I made my own & wore it to a game & just my luck Herbert was sittin' on the bench. I had brought a small megaphone with me to the game & started chanting "HERBERT PERRY DON'T GET NO R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!!!

Someone took my picture that day showing the PERRY on the back with me looking over my shoulder, but I forgot who took the picture. I'm pretty sure it was either Joey Batters or RedPinStripes. They both said they would check their pictures, but I never heard back from them. RedPinStripes said he was so blasted that he didn't remember if he took the picture or not.

Come on Tony or Mike look thru those pictures....P-L-E-A-S-E

What's not to love about this guy...Herbert is a fine specimen of a MAN.

Besides his clutch hitting, I loved to see Herbert run around 3rd & S-C-O-R-E with a big ole slide over homeplate; but nobody could do that better than Ray Ray & Jose(especially the slidng in home).

Man!!!! I miss Ray Durham so much. I'll be watchin' alot more NON-WHITE SOX games now just to catch some of my favorite EX-WHITE SOX players.

Herbert & Ray are just a few of the reasons I hate KW & JR.

number 3...the konerko homer game..i was at that game in the LF bleachers...my first and only walk off game...probably the most exciting sox game ive ever seen personally...we were down 6 runs going into the 7th inning...

MoochPuppy: Thanks for the tip about the pixel's on my Avatar thingy. I'll try that.

OMG: I never heard the story about Clayton & Franks women before. Now I know why Frank was in such a bad mood for a couple of years. I thought it was just because of the Divorce, his Father's illness & his agent getting killed in that plane crash.

I never liked Royce from day one either, but made myself root for him just because he was a White Sock. Things did seem to go downhill once he arrived. Now I know "THE REST OF THE STORY".

One more BRAG on my Beloved Herbert Perry  . Herbert was the first White Sox 3rd baseman to average over .300 in a season since George Kell did it, I think, in 1945. No knock on Robin Ventura here; because we all know Robin is A-W-E-S-O-M-E.
