knightni
Yep, time to change those Mock Drafts kids. Mike Williams - WR out of USC could be better than Fitzgerald.

I'm not sure there is a player in this draft I would take over Mike Williams. That guy is simply amazing and yes, I think he is easily a better pro prospect then Fitzgerald. Williams is a guy who will be fine leaving college early.

At the worst he will be the 2nd receiver taken and a certain top 10 pick. Living in Pac 10 country I can tell you from 1st hand experience that this guy is a freak. He has a TE type body with WR skills. I still think Fitzgerland will be taken before him, but I got a feeling that Williams will be the better pro when all said and done. I hate the idea of underclassman leaving early(thank you Clarett for being a dumbass and not being able to hack college), but Williams is definately one of the few guys that could leave early(has the size and ability to leave early). Trust me, I've seen plenty of Mike Williams over the last two years because I love watching USC play. This guy is like a cross between Terrell Owens and Randy Moss. No doubt in my mind that he will be a better pro than Fitzgerald and I think Fitzgerald will be a star as well. I just am that high on Mike Williams ability. I don't think there is another reciever in the NFL with his combination of speed and strength. And I hated the NFL ruling but once I heard it I had a feeling Mike Williams would go pro. Very few football players will be able to make the jump, and I'm guessing it will be WR in most cases that make the jump early.
Gene Honda Civic
I already posed this query in the "flying under the radar thread" Is this the best WR draft class ever? You have the William triplets (Mike-USC, Reggie-Washington, and Roy-Texas) plus hiesman runner-up Larry Fitzgerald, plus Mark Clayton's stock is rising since the Senior Bowl. All of these guys are significant;y better than Terrel was coming out, and yet we took him with the 8th pick.
baggio202
this guy is so good that if i were the bears id draft no matter what my needs were...of course he wont be there for the bears but id even trade up to get him if that was a possibility..this guy could be one in a million special
DBAHO
Now this makes da draft SO much more intertestin. I think Denny Green will definitely take a receiver with da 1st pick now, so Roesthlberger? will slip down, mayb da Giants will take him. And that wasn't the Rookie of the Year Anquan Boldin.... I highly doubt they take another WR.
WillieHarris2
Fitzgerald's speed is often questioned whereas Mike Williams has speed. I think that Mike Williams would be picked higher then Larry and i also think williams is a more physical recicever then fitzgerald. I think Mike would be the first recicever picked in the draft. knightni
Can Fitzgerald go back to Pitt or did he sign with an agent?
Rowand44
They can all go back to college right now, that was another ruling by the courts, I believe it's only basketball where if you sign with an agent you can't go back to school. Chisoxfn
Holy macoral, these two guys are absolute stud recievers (Williams and Fitz) and on top of that you have Reggie Williams and Roy Williams, who normally would be Top 10 picks, imo. This is a hell of a receiver draft. Maybe this sends Clayton down to the Bears 2nd round pick.

I highly doubt they take another WR. Just remember Green had Moss, Carter and Jake Reed as the 3 WR's in Minny. And he had 7 different QB's in his time, so I think he'll stick with McCown for at least a year.

But he also drafted Daunte to be the future of the Vikings in about his 3rd to last draft(or sometime around there). I see no reason why he would not take Roethlisberger, a potential franchise QB. If he wants another receiver, he'll get a solid one in the second or third round.
WillieHarris2
I feel bad for the guy having to stick with McNown for a year.
witesoxfan
I feel bad for the guy having to stick with McNown for a year. No one is sticking with Cade McNown, if that's who you are thinking of. We are talking about Josh McCown, the starting QB for the Cardinals last 5-10 games last year, and the guy who threw the pass to send the Vikings to the country club instead of back to Minnesota to play Seattle.
