Please translate.....Stay away from AA??

The Sox AA club, the Birmingham Barons, are looking like they are going to have a lousy team this year.

Most of our top prospects are either in AAA, with the big club, or in the low minors.

I take it....... Malone, Diaz, West, Arnie, Sanders.......etc are all going to charlotte?

Too bad all their records are gonna suck.......because hitting is pretty weak up there.....

Maybe with the addition of Holt, a healthy Jb, and a healthy Mario Velenezulea (SP?) they can do som damage.

Malone is going to be in AA still. He's got to prove he can pitch there and that he's 100%. I think he'll rebound and have a pretty good season.

That guy has a very high ceiling and can be a devasting lefty in the rotation.

his rep is that 1 yr he does good and the next he doesn't

The problem with Malone last year was control and an injury. The control stems back to an injury as well as the fact that he is still pretty raw.

Otherwise, people didn't hit Malone much. The year before Malone had a huge jump as he started to figure things out. The guy will be a slower mover strictly because the Sox will have to teach him more things, mainly mechanically, but stuff wise he's right there with Diaz, imo, except he's got a bigger build, which lends me to believe his body will be able to harness his stuff. Something that is a big questionmark when it comes to Diaz, whose very small in stature, much like Juan Cruz, Ramon Ortiz, and Pedro Martinez.

either way, this tier of pitchers are exciting and i can't wait to see them in action.

Hey chisoxfn who is your buddy on the bball team for the mighty Gauchos? Also, where did Murcielago find that God awful pic of me from my college days. And lastly if you really want me to, I could write a little something for the website about Spring. Oh ya, Cotts should be in Bham as well, giving us 4 lefties in the rotation, assuming Corwin is back in AA, (which I seriously doubt if he's healthy) Cant wait to see the minor league previews on soxnet as well.

Murcielago the Cooperstown game was one the coolest things I've ever been apart of. (even though I gave up 4 runs in 2 Innings Ouch!!) THe entire day was nonstop excitement and I had the honor of meeting Bob Feller and Ozzie Smith. The All Star game was fun as well, even though it rained during BP. I got to pitch an inning the rest of the game I sat in the dugout and filmed stuff that was going on on the field and in the stands. Once again thanks for posting the pic I look terrible!!

I can only imagine how awesome that could have been, I read the journal you wrote on the Warthogs website.......... it seems like it was pretty badass!

Another little question for ya....... Which pitcher in the Whitesox minor league system would you say has the nastiest stuff.......besides yourself of course :D

Murcielago I dont know if I can narrow down the nastiest stuff to one guy, but I'l tell you who has the nastiest pitches in the system. First off Munoz' curveball is down right ridiculous, Sander's cutter/slider is the best I've seen from a lefty, Honel's knuckle curve is unhittable at times, Almonte and Heath Phillips both have awesome changeups, and Malone's fastball is hard with some serious movement. But if I had to pick one guy who I wouldnt want to face it would be Sanders b/c he throws 88-92, his slider breaks righties bats and his changeup keeps the hitters honest. He is a quality lefty reliever that should get a shot at the Sox soon. If Valentine were still with us I'd rate him the nastiest righty in our system but he's with Oakland now so the next best righty in my mind is Honel.

Jim, as the local White Sox Minor League stalker/follower, let me say it's a real honor for us to have you here. I have to say, I really didn't know much about you up until this year, but you're now on my radar. I think you and Heath Phillips are really similar to Mark Buehrle, which isn't a bad thing :) Right now, I have to write a preview on Winstom-Salem this year, I'll be sure to throw in some kind words about you.

But, thanks alot, man. You really don't know how much this emans to me to have a solid prospect chatting it up with us bums :)

I do a little recap of prospect who were with the affiliate last year. For example, my report on Kanappolis overviews Jason Stumm's, Jeremy Reed's, and Kris Honel's seasons, as well as players just entering the class this year (Antyhony Webster, Andy Gonzalez, etc). I know that you will be making the terk to AA this year, and I wish you the best of luck. Within the week, both my reports should be up on the website, so expect a tidbit on you and some other prospects (probably will cover Edwin Yan, Josh Fields, Heath Phillips, Frank Francisco, etc.)

That would be great Jim.

If you'd like, you can leave your email address here or write me at [email protected] so we can discuss it. I think that is a great idea though, thanks a lot, we appreciate it.

Welcome on Jim....

Jeez....this website is getting out to the public and the family's of pro players in our system(along with some players in our system).  Who's next?

it would be sweet if jr or kw.

this board would explode if KW or JR would post. Every Sox fan would come here and will be throwing F-bombs all over the place.
