SuperSteve
Sun-Times Top 100 Sports Moments What a joke. How on Earth is Mike Tyson biting Evander Holifield's ear the eight greatest moment in sports. The miracle on ice is number one, yet the miracle on the mat is no where to be seen. Rulon Gardner's upset over Alexandre Karelin was a bigger upset than the USA beating the Soviets in hockey in 1980. He was going for his fourth straight gold medal, and is one of the best athletes to ever live, regardless of sport. He was a machine; bigger, tougher, stronger than Ivan Drago from Rocky IV (if that was real life). He did not suffer a defeat in nine consecutive world championships (from '89 to '99, meaning he didn't lose one single match). He had previously defeated Gardner at the WC's 5-0 in '98. Greatest Upset In Wrestling Great Article About Karelin's Dominance

Greatest Upset In Wrestling Great Article About Karelin's Dominance I agree that the wrestler should have atleast been on the list.... but saying that was bigger than the miracle team is just crazy. good number 1 in my opinion. And really outside of wrestlers, how many people were talking about this after it happened? Everyone knew and was into the miracle on ice. Elcaballo45
I love how they threw Kerry Woods 20 K performance at #100. I also like how Wrigley getting lights in 1989 was #92. And the Steve Bartman game was #62. I dont know if there is some Chicago bias there but if Wood is #100, does that mean the other pitcher that got 20 K's, Roger Clemens should be on that list? And i do remember the first night game at Wrigley in 89, but does anyone else in the world remember?
knightni
The first night game at Wrigley was 8-8-88 against the Phillies. It was rained out. :fthecubs The next day 8-9-88 was the first official game.

No no, I never meant it was bigger than the Miracle On Ice. I just thought it deserved to be on the list. I don't see how some of that stuff that's on the list made it. That's all. I would just say around 40th-50th spot.
WillieHarris2
tyson biting off holyfields ear as number 8 is just a joke, it shouldnt even be in the top ten. No doubt about it that the miracle on ice is the greatest moment in sports.
