Mel Gibson was on the tonight show with jay leno and he said that the actor who played jesus was struck by lightning twice during the production of the film.  :o

I found this article on it as well

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3209223.stm

I had heard that before. On Sunday there was a "Make of..." documentery on PAX. IT was really great and apperently the lightening strike was really scare to those who saw it.

he wasnt actually struck by lightning...there was another guy that got struck by lightning twice...the second time he got struck he was standing right next to the actor that played jesus (jim caviezal) and caviezal caught the after affects of being that close to lightning...the wierd thing was it happened right as gibson said "cut" for the very last shot of the movie...that was the last piece of film they shot...thats the real creepy part
