DBAHO
From the Star Ledger, Article Examples include Montreal right-hander Livan Hernandez, who is due to make $6 million this year, and Pittsburgh right-hander Kris Benson, who'll make $6.1 million. Scott Schoeneweis of the White Sox also intrigues the Yankees, since he's left-handed and makes only $1.725 million.

YASNY
Maybe a couple of guys will step up in spring training and make Shoe expendable. Depending on what the Yanks are willing to give up, of course.

fullcollapse
Nothing much at all in their farm system which is goin to be a big problem is they want to do any more trades. it would have to be for a prospect, cause no way the sox will take on any extra salary, and their farm is pretty thin... plus kenny has wanted shoe for 3 years or whatever... Rex Hudler
MLB GM's would be smart if they would just flat out refuse to make any trades with the Yankees. If teams don't feel like they are on an even playing field with the Yankees in terms of payroll and the ability to get talent, why make trades with them and help them become even better. They should take a stand on principle and make the Yankees do ALL of their work through buying players.
Harry Chappas
Yankess will get guys that are overpaid from lower level teams. Shoe at $1.7M is a relative bargain and the Yanks have nothing to give for him.
israel4ever
Don't the Yankees have a "can't miss" catching prospect in their system?
southsider2k5
Don't the Yankees have a "can't miss" catching prospect in their system? I believe he is one of the players that could be involved in the ARod deal. Similar to the Everett deal, they have a list of players to pick from and he is one of them, IIRC. fullcollapse
Don't the Yankees have a "can't miss" catching prospect in their system? i decided to do some research on the yankees farm system, i found this http://www.bigleagueforums.net/forums/inde...?showtopic=5927 dioner navarro is the guy you're thinking about. 299/.364/.467 with a 1.59 K/BB ratio in high-A and .341/.388/.471 with a 1.44 K/BB in AA, only 19 there is a breakdown of their probable aaa team, and i didn't see anyone who could help us now. Texsox
In four months we will be either buying or selling. If we are 8 games out, hell the Yankees may be talking about Mark or E-Lo.

Chisoxfn
I find it funny that just because the yanks say they would be interested in a guy that the media believes it will happen. Ya, they can do that when there are players that are on the market, but the Sox aren't going to deal their #4 starter unless they get a guy that can be a starter in return. Why not? Boone got injured. George spoke: "Let there be ARod!" And poof, there at 3rd base was ARod.
