White Sox bursted out to a 4-0 lead early in the game thanks to a 2-run homer by Aaron Rowand. Esteban Loiaza pitched four innings and struggled to hold the lead. Billy Koch pitched a scoreless inning and Shingo eventually gave up the lead. White Sox had 10 hits in the game but failed to score a run after the second inning. I wouldn't worry too much about Willie Harris. They had an article on Whitesox.com that was right on point. Media and fans judge these guys differently than the actual manager and coaches. We just look at stats. They look at things like, is whoever putting together quality at bats? R they workin the count? R they hittin the ball hard? You can be absoulutely killin the ball 1 day and still go 0 for 4...I think as long as Willie is doin those things the hits will come... How is his velocity, and if it is still down, how is he getting hitters out? Is is a new pitch, or just better placement and/or selection? The announcers said he was throwing hard, though they didn't quote anything from the radar gun. Koch was lights out last ST too so take it for what it's worth. I believe he has to have a good regular season start in order to build confidence to add more velocity in his movement. I'm sure Ozzie will do what Manuel didn't which is keep Koch in there just to trust his stuff. It's always good to have a good spring, but I'm sure Koch wants to get over that hump and not blow a save in his 1st outing in the beginning of the season.
