NUKE_CLEVELAND
In light of the Todd Bertuzzi mess this week I thought it'd be fun to see what cheapshots all the Hockey fans around here remember most from years past. Mine has to be when Gary Suter re-arranged Paul Karyia's teeth with a cross check to the chops back in 1998.
Queen Prawn
The Devils VS Ducks last year - The hit that Stevens landed. I'm sure I'll think of more later.
EvilJester99
The best hit I can remember is when Scott Stevens nailed that pansy Lindros and knocked him out with a concussion. I hate Lindros if you can't tell.
southsider2k5
YOu can't top Marty McSorely's two handed baseball swing with a hockey stick to the back of Donald Brasher.
Mathew
YOu can't top Marty McSorely's two handed baseball swing with a hockey stick to the back of Donald Brasher. The sucker punch that ended Jeff Beukaboom's career comes to mind. My favorite hit ever was McLaren on zednick in the playoffs a few years ago. Texsox
The biggest fight I ever saw was about 10 years ago. Minny versus the Hawks at the old stadium. In the pre-game skate around Van Dorp decks a guy at the blue line and a ten minute brawl started. The linemen had not even hit the ice yet so the players were left to go at it. I remember Keenan just standing there watching. I think the first official fight was 30 seconds into the 1st. I left the stadium around midnight. southsider2k5
One of the best cheap shots I ever saw actually came in an IHL game. Andre Roy, now of Tampa Bay, then of the Fort Wayne Komets speared the Cincy Cyclones goalie after missing a shootout goal attempt. The goalie called him a "gay-ass motherf***er", and Andre snapped and speared him. He got something like a 10 game suspension for that... That sounds like the Andre Roy I've been reading about and hearing about from Brian. The biggest fight I saw was between the Griffs and the Wolves. Everyone including the goalies got into it. There was a team fight between the Phantoms and Binghamton (AHL) this year - there weren't even enough players to play out the last few seconds of the game. For my birthday one year we went up and saw the Komets and Kalamazoo in MI. THe end of the first period they had a full team fight on the ice, including the goalies. Marty Turco beat the s*** out of the Komets goalie right in front of us as we sat in the front row. We could even hear Marty taunting the K's goalie. It was awesome. It seems that those two always play strong against each other, or so I've read.

I don't know if it is the same as when they both were in the IHL, but they used to fight like hell. It made for some fun games.
IlliniBob72
Dale Hunter levelling Pierre Turgeon with a check as Turgeon was celebrating a goal. Hunter was the dirtiest player I remember. He got 20 games or so for that cheap shot.

I think my wife took her Mom to that game and they watched all that mess going on.
Texsox
The best cheap shot was Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson, Robin Zander, and Bun E. Carlos Oops, I'm sorry that's Cheap Trick
