witesoxfan
Magglio Ordonez and now Jon Rauch? Who next, who next! I want to know. BTW, by successful do you mean he'll put up like 15-10 4.00 ERA, basically a very good rookie year, or do you mean 13-12 5.25 ERA?

YASNY
the vision came today from the Beyond: Jon Rauch. I was surprised but then so was Moses with the burning bush he is ready and it will happen Are you sure YOU weren't high and listening to "Revolution"? Actually, I think Rauch could do a decent job, but I don't think he'll be able to beat out Danny Wright.
crabbysox
I think it's pretty obvious Danny Wright will be the 5th starter.

CWSGuy406
I think it's pretty obvious Danny Wright will be the 5th starter. Does anyone else find it pretty pathetic how Scott Schoenwies has just been given the fourth starter spot? He has sucked so far in ST, Danny Wright has been OK. Wright has earned the fourth spot and Grilli/Rauch should get the fifth, end of story. Shoe is a lefty-specialist, nothing more, and I bet we will see Rauch up with the big club by the end of April. I have no confidence in Shoe or Wright.

He wasn't trying to be dominent in Spring Training. I was very impressed with his last outing and the # of k's he had. I don't think anyone had confidence in Loaiza last year, and look what he did.. Let's just give these pitchers a chance before we start losing confidence in them esp. Shoey.
EvilJester99
Schoney, Guillen and Cooper all have said he is only using the 2 new pitches he has learned to try and perfect them. That should give Schoney 4 to 5 good pitches instead of his standard 2 he had last year. Which should make him more effective as a starter or reliver either way. Lets not give up on Schoney yet. I think he could be useful with these new pitches once he has them down.

Can Shoe say the same?
SoxAce
Regarding Loaiza, we WERE comforted atleast a little when he had about a 2.00 ERA or so in ST. Can Shoe say the same? But the differense is, Loaiza was competing for a starter's spot back then, so he had to pitch well. Shoey has already been guarenteed a starter's spot, so he is just working on some new pitches. He'll be fine.
YASNY
Schoney's not trying to win the Cy Young award in spring training, he's trying to master a couple of pitches. Let's see what happens when the games actually count before we blast him.
