DBAHO
JONES HAS "BRUTAL" WORKOUT Word straight out of the Virginia Tech Pro Day is that running back Kevin Jones has had a disappointing showing in the 40-yard dash. Running on a fast indoor surface, Jones was timed at over 4.5 seconds on both of his efforts. He ran it a third time, and again was over 4.5. Jones, who at one time was regarded as a Heisman Trophy candidate and a top-ten pick, should fall to the bottom of the first round (and possibly farther) based on this development. A year ago, Jones ran a 4.3. His father, boasted that Kevin had run in the 4.1 to 4.2 range during high school, said that a 4.3 wasn't acceptable. We wonder what he's thinking about those 4.5s? We're also hearing that Jones have now moved on to the three-cone drill, and that on his first two tries he knocked over a cone. One person in attendance is describing the workout as "brutal." witesoxfan
Maybe the Bears will get lucky and he'll slip to 14 in the second round.
SuperSteve
I remember a few years ago there was a big deal made about him running 4.1 or even possibly faster. I hope he falls through the second round to us.
southsider2k5
The Bears aren't going to draft an RB anyway.
DBAHO
The Bears aren't going to draft an RB anyway. Not in the early rounds anyways, afta they signed Thomas Jones. Hmmm I think he'll definitely slip to at least #21, where it'll get interestin to see if the Pats and then da Cowboys will take him or not. Perry prob slipped out of the 1st afta his sub - par workout as well, so Jackson should be da 1st runnin back taken.

witesoxfan
The Bears aren't going to draft an RB anyway. I think if he fell to them in the second round they snatch him up in a heartbeat and trade A-Train for either a 3rd or 4th round pick this year or next year. Either that or they don't trade ATrain and use he and Jones as a hell of a 2-back combo and release Jones next year.
CSF
The first running back to go will either be Steven Jackson or Greg Jones.
