Bighurt52235
In your opinion, qould the Sox have won the Central crown in 2000 had the Snyder-Navarro for Eldred-Valentin trade not taken place? I don't think so.
delben91
No way in hell. Eldred and Valentin were two very, very key components of that 2000 team. Snyder and Navarro combined wouldn't have contributed what Eldred did in 2000, even though he just pitched for the first half of the year. Bighurt52235
I completely agree with you on that. I only wish Eldred remained healthy and was a member of the rotation the passed couple of years.
cwsox
put me down as a no way in hell. I was at the game against St Louis when Eldred went down and I almost cried and the only reason I didn't cry was I was sitting next to a Cards fan so I had to be macho. What Eldred brought to us was so miles ahead of anything Navarro and Snider would have done - and Valentin was a 2000 spark plug as we all know. Guest hotsoxchick1
gotta agree with my commrades here......there is no way we could have done the 2000 season without guys like eldered and valentin.. do you seriously think that navarro would have gotten us over any hump? lmao......i just wish cal was still around.... its a shame to have to go through what he went through only to find you may not do your line of work ever again .. i wish him well in st. louis and hope he can find his groove........ Bighurt52235
St. Louis? I didn't hear about that. When did that happen?
Soxplosion
It doesnt really kill me that Eldred is gone. I really like where the youth movement has brought this team and I think Eldred woulda just been taking up one of the youngsters spots in the rotation but I do wish him well in St Louis and maybe someday he can become a pitching coach for us, that would be cool. As for the trade, theres no way we coulda done it without them. Great trade...
Bighurt52235
I never knew he went to St. Louis. As of this moment, he is not on their 40-man roster.

Chisoxfn
That deal got a cancer off this club and brought the Sox an offensive weapon for the year who came up with many clutch hits and it also brought a pitcher who threw great while heatlhy. That team overachieved, no doubt, but they did it thanks to the help of that deal.
