CSF
Both Gammons and Reynolds said the Cubs would be in the World Series. Considering they're wrong just about every year leaves me with a nice and warm fuzzy feeling. 6 months until the East Coast boys look like idiots.......again. DBAHO
I'm amazed they didn't pick an east coast team like the Mets.

Who needs goats & foul balls for a curse when you have Peter Gammons & the jackasses at ESPN.
SuperSteve
I'm amazed they didn't pick an east coast team like the Mets. I am surprised they did not pick the Yankees over the Red Sox in the World Series...both teams qualifying by default.
CSF
The word of the day is injuries. Considering how they never take that into account, one (or 2) injuries to that "vaunted" staff suddenly throws that "team of destiny" into quite a tailspin. They don't think it's possible? Ask the 2001 White Sox.

So you are saying you had the Angels and Marlins in the past two World Series?? Would it make you an idiot too then, if you did not?

Texsox
If you are a paid prognosticator you cannot pick the favorite. You have to go to the 4th or 5th best teams and grab someone from there. You cannot go to far out and pick a real dark horse candidate. The Cubs are a perfect guess. If they fail, there are some ready made excuses, it was injuries, blowing up the ball didn't work, etc.

No, I'm a White Sox fan, which doesn't make me an idiot, but instead; a wise and intelligent sage.

As long as they "FAIL" is satisfaction enough for me.
witesoxfan
That would be perfectly fine with me if they are jinxed now.

We can always rip the Cub fans miserably lame excuses to shreds after they choke.
