I am certain the nuclear mushroom cloud won't bother the US too much. You could never accuse the Soviets of having good quality control with their weapons or anything else for that matter. With the break up, they never accounted for all the weapons, never accounted for all the material. I read a book a while back written by a Soviet Nuclear Scientist defector which outlined a lot of scary problems facing the Russians. Funny how nukes make strabge bedfellows.
