mreye
I told him, 'Don't go 0-for-4, 0-for-8, and then all of a sudden you're going to mope and complain about it. You're the one that made the decision.''' Go Ozzie!
Texsox
Notice that OZ is already thinking about the moping Frank, the brooding, moody, Frank. I'm hoping Oz can keep Frank pumped.

supernuke
The only negative is Maggs GIDP when the 1st two guys get on, but maybe with more aggressive baserunning that is minimized too. When the first two guys get on LMAO. Don't worry about it it won't happen to often.
Nokona
Assuming Willie bats first and then Carlos bats 2nd it will. And if ARow hits 2 then i wouldnt be surprised if he had a pretty nice OBP.
JTC2784
Assuming Willie bats first and then Carlos bats 2nd it will. And if ARow hits 2 then i wouldnt be surprised if he had a pretty nice OBP. (I haven't posted here in quite some time...) ARow would be my ideal candidate for the #2 hole. Here are his numbers at various spots in the order (as I've posted on WXing a couple of times... I'm only posting the spots in the order with a substantial number of AB's) #1: 43 AB #2: 177 AB, .345 AVG, .406 OBP #3: 11 AB #4: 8 AB #5: 3 AB #6: 37 AB #7: 152 AB, .243 AVG, .301 OBP #8: 143 AB, .224 AVG, .266 OBP #9: 8 AB Why NOT give him the #2 spot at this point? Are those career numbers??? Holy s***...I'd say the #2 spot should be his. Put Valentin at 6, Konerko 7, Crede 8, and Olivo 9.
JTC2784
Yes, those are career numbers (he's only got 582 ML AB's). Granted he's been the #2 hitter mostly after the trade deadline(s) when he always seems to catch on, but I'm not sure if it should be considered a cause or effect of his spot in the order. Texsox
A batted #2 for 6 seasons. It was, by far, my favorite spot in the order.
witesoxfan
Yes, those are career numbers (he's only got 582 ML AB's). Granted he's been the #2 hitter mostly after the trade deadline(s) when he always seems to catch on, but I'm not sure if it should be considered a cause or effect of his spot in the order. It's very understandable. You got the speedy guy in front of you(he gets on, he is a huge threat to steal, so you will not throw junk, or he could steal easily), so you have to throw more fastballs in that case, and you have the big boppers behind you, so you don't want to get to them by walking the #2 hitter. However, as the #6 and mainly #7 hitter, he's got a good #8 hitter coming up after him, but an 8 hitter none the less, so he will get fewer pitches to hit, as they will not care as much if they walk him. It's why a lot of guys excel in the #2 spot, and why Rowand would be a good candiate for it.

Queen Prawn
Can you say Ryne Sandberg? There is a really nasty billboard with him on it on 294 - south-bound side between 95th and 127th (I think that is the area). It gives me the creeps whenever I see it.
