Why AOL is evil

I activated the aol service that i got with my new computer 8 months ago. I used it for one day before i decided to go with my schools connection. So checking my Checking account balence today, i found that aol has been billing me for the last 2 months even though i have not used there service in over 8 months. 60 dollars down the drain because those bastards didn't notify me that my free trial was up.

$60.00 for one days use of aol.

f*** you AOL

Jon.. it says at sign on that if you don't want the service past the trial period you have to call and cancel it.

I know folks who use it, cancel it, then make another account with another free disk. Someone my sister knows supposedly has gotten AOL for free for the past 2 years.

Maybe call them and try to get 1 months fee back..?

Tried it and the offered to give me 2 months free, but since i'm love my schools high speed, i had them cancel my membership. I understand i forgot to cancel, but a little notification would be nice.

So easy to use, no wonder it's #1 :D

I've had an AOL when they had less than 500,000 subscribers. Then left. When I was working for one company and needed access throughout the US, I tried them again. For local dial up anywhere in the US, they were impossible to beat. I could fly into the smallest airport, drive to the smallest town, fire up the laptop, and AOL would have a local POP in a town of 2,000 people. Amazing.
