Jordan4life_2007
WOW...I thought we would be ranked higher than 20...And we had the best in 2001? Damn...We went down bigtime...
witesoxfan
I would guess we are so low because a ton of our better prospects are in the lower levels. Wait for them to mature and start to develop into good players, and we will probably be top 5-10 again.

Other than that Rauch and Borchard have fallen quicker than disco in the 80's. After those guys the only top notch prospects we have are in A ball. We have some prospects that could be decent major leaguers some day(Cotts, Pacheco, Diaz off the top of my head), and the key word there is could be. I like this new class of guys though. I think a lot of them will develop nicely.
quade36
Kris Honel should be considered one of the better prospects yet his name never is mentioned.

SkokieSox
I agree in not putting too much stock into this. It really comes down to producing guys at the major league level. We have guys that look like they are going to be really good players. We have a good core of players on our current team, and hopefully we can fill holes faster than we need to replace them. I'm not too worried about it though. I'm probably just biased, but from what I've seen in our system, I think we look pretty decent. We could use some more infield prospects, and that's probably evident in our ranking, but with the numerous extra picks we are going to get this draft on top of what we already have, we can fill up on infield positions and pitching. You always have to get pitching, but I think we look pretty good there in the near future even. Granted, whoever we get this draft, we will be waiting for a little while. However, some guys move up fast, like Reed. Either way though, the future looks bright from my perspective.

ChiSox_Sonix
despite the low ranking in a couple of years we could be high again. Look at our guys in low ball right now. Wing Honel Haigwood McCarthy Hummel Anderson Sweeney Rogowski Yan Schnurstein Lopez And if you look at our top 10, our top 10 could rival a lot of teams. Its just that 15 and beyond where we are lacking at the moment. But, that could very well change in a year or two

witesoxfan
Hummel? We traded him unless there's another Hummel you're talkin about... I believe he may be talking about Rick Hummel. Tim Hummel was traded, you are correct, to Cincinatti for Scott Sullivan. I was thinking he was taken by Texas, but they took Webster, Rupe, and Francisco kid that we got from Boston
