OZZ-fest 2004
Here is an update of today's game from Tucson. Starting pitchers Buerhle vs.Sparks Current score Bottom 5th Sox 4 D-Backs 0 Uribe hit his 4th HR of the spring in the top of the 5th. I am trying to listen to the game, but my radio doesn't have the greatest reception in my office building. Hope this is useful.

At least starting tomorrow the games will seem a little more real with the regulars going deeper into the games.

DonkeyKongerko
White Sox winner 5-2 final. Adkins gave up a run. Mark Buehrle has not issued a walk in 20IP this spring.
SuperSteve
f***ing Julio Ramirez!?!?!?! :headshake I do believe Uribe will be our starting 2B very soon. I think KW did a hell of a job getting him.

If I was Ozzie, I would go with him.

Good speed with some pop in his bat but Uribe is very solid defensively as well. I'm not sure who Juan reminds me of, but personally, I would not say Ray Durham. Ray Durham proved had very good plate discipline, and is one of the better leadoff hitters in the game due to his all around game offensively. IIRC, he had something like 72 XBH's in his last full season with Chicago, 2001(something like 20 homers, 42 doubles, and 10 triples...that may be a little off, as it was off of the top of my head, but it is very close to that), he had an OBP of .380-.400, stole 30 bases a year consistently...I mean, plain and simple, he was and still is a great leadoff hitter. Juan Uribe doesn't have the great plate discipline, and according to his career major league production thus far, he has showed very little power. However, that could change easily, and maybe all he needed was a change of scenary. I do also think he is the starting 2Bman before it is all said and done. I would guess by June he is. However, if he is putting up mediocre numbers, I could see a trade of Harris/Uribe and some prospects for Vidro in Montreal.

elrockinMT
I like Willie Harris, but that there Uribe fella is showing some pop with the bat. He is gonna make it difficult, which is great.
elrockinMT
Saying that Uribe needed a change of scenery to blossom makes me think of the same thing being said about D Jimenez. Let's be careful of what we wish for...

Let's be careful of what we wish for... Barry Bonds also needed a change of scenery to really blossom into the superstar he is today too. Does that help?
