Butter Parque
This is a tough one
SuperSteve
Reed no question.
DBAHO
Long term, I'll say Sweeney.
Gene Honda Civic
I'm not quite sold on Reed, and Sweeney appears to be the real deal against Major League pitching in ST.
southsider2k5
Sweeney is getting rave reviews, even from his peers.
TLAK
Roland Hemond compares Ryan Sweeney to Harold Baines. Thats a pretty nice endorsement.
KipWellsFan
Ryan Meaux and Corwin Malone shouldn't be on that list. Replace them with Ryan Wing and Ruddy Yan or Ricardo Nanita.
hammerhead johnson
I hate the fact that not one catcher, shortstop, or second baseman is on that list. They've drafted far too many pitchers in the high rounds in recent years. That's usually the way to go, but they've done it to a fault. What happened to our Central and Southern American pipelines? ChiSox_Sonix
Meaux and Malone!?!?! ya i agree, i'd put Wing and McCarthy up there no question instead of those two
dasox24
Wow, that is a tough question. I'd have to say that either Reed or Sweeney would be our top prospect. Personally, I love both guys and couldn't pick which one would be #1.
greasywheels121
I just say Reed for now, because I believe he'll be playing for Chicago the quickest. Sweeney is obviously my 2nd pick.
SoxAce
Of course you know what my answer is.. But that kid Sweeney, I believe, is going to be somethin. He isn't the best sox prospect right now, but I'd say he is when Reed moves up to the majors.
DBAHO
I also think Brian Anderson is bein very hard done by here. He's got the best tools out of all 3 outfielders, he just hasn't put up as good as performances as Redd last season and Sweeney this spring training. But he hasn't disappointed any1 so far. HighHeat45
is that a typo or is sweeney a pitcher too.
DBAHO
is that a typo or is sweeney a pitcher too. He was also a pitcher back in high school I believe, but he's just an outfielder now.
witesoxfan
Just to reiterate points about Malone and Meaux...Malone is out until 2005 with Tommy John surgery, and Meaux is like 25 or 26 and is in AA ball, which is very old to be a prospect. Anyways, I voted Reed. It's talking about our top prospect right now...hmm, that's a toughie.
DBAHO
Anyways, I voted Reed. It's talking about our top prospect right now...hmm, that's a toughie. Rite now it's Reed. But once all 3 get into the outfield for Chicago, if that happens, I think Sweeney just ahead of Anderson. But it can turn around so quickly for em, just ask Joe Borchard. YASNY
You almost have to go with Reed by default. As impressive as Sweeney has been in spring training, Reed just had a monster year last year. Though, I did consider Honel.
Butter Parque
I wonder why no one has picked Honel. I would always go with pitching over hitting.
