Bullard
It looks like Sweeney and Anderson are both headed to Winston, along with Nanita. Fields has something wrong with his foot and Wing has some inflamation in his shoulder I believe.

I thought perhaps one of them would go to Winston, not all three.
MnSoxFan
Thanks Bull. Hope Wing will be ok. Thanks Rex, it was Mitchell for Welsh, March 26th, 2002. So we had Welsh for the two years. Did he get cut for sure? How accurate is your roster, need to change my online one, hate to do it unless you are sure?
winninguglyin83
I've got a couple of questions: What is the idea behind making Munox a starter? Isn't he a small guy who projected as a great situational reliever to strike out a Koeskie, Jacque Jones, Aaron Guiel or Bobby Higginson? Who made that call? And are they thinking about Wyatt Allen as a closer or middle reliever? His arm is good, but his mechanics and control are troublesome. MnSoxFan
THe Bham roster looks like it is pretty much set. I think we can carry 24 active players. There is 27 on the roster right now, 2 on the DL This is what it looks like now: Pitchers: Starters- Honel, Meaux, Phillips, Munoz, Yofu, Wing(on DL for a month or so) Relievers- Bullard, Ulacia, McNichol, Baj, Smith, Keller, Allen, Fields(DL for a couple of weeks) Infielders- McNeal, Yan, Reyes, Morse, Shaffer, Sasser Outfielders- Spidale, Blakely, Franklin, Murphy Catchers- Maldonado, Aceves, Stewart Is McNichol on that roster you projected supposed to be McWhirters Bull? Bullard
No its Brian McNichol. Kris McWhirter retired this offseason. I think Munoz is starting because 1. He is freakin good and 2. He has 3 pitches he can locate in the zone and 3. he projects as a pretty solid starter as long as he can withstand the expanded innings. I recall the name from another org, but in this years Baseball America Super Register he does not show up. Either he was hurt all last year or he sat out the year or played in Japan or somewhere. Can you enlighten me? thanks in advance. Too bad about McWhirter, guess he advanced about as far as he could, he was a nice organization player, and seemed to do decent whereever he went and in whatever role he was placed in. Guest JimH
Eddie Young, the OF and former 8th round pick, was also released recently. Too many good outfielders I guess, and he never developed with the stick.

Yep, he was a real disappointment for an 8th rounder, he and that one HS pitcher from Texas who bombed early and was cut quickly, he was a 4th rounder a few years back, cannot recall the name right now.
