HuskyCaucasian
I havent been keeping track of who is being sent down. SO, can anyone tell me who is left in camp?
witesoxfan
Maggs, Thomas, Lee, Konerko, Jose, Loaiza, Buehrle, Garland, Wright, and sadly enough, Koch too. There are some others...about 15-20 more.
Texsox
I believe Aboz was our last poster in camp. Or do you mean players?
Guest JimH
Let me try this from memory ... OK, 29 players, 15 pitchers, 3 catchers, 7 infielders, and 4 OF. Catchers (3): Olivo, Alomar, Burke Infielders (7): Thomas, Konerko, Harris, Uribe, Valentin, Crede, Gload Outfielders (4): Lee, Rowand, Ordonez, Perez Now the hard part, Pitchers (15): Buehrle, Loaiza, Garland, Shoeneweis, Wright, Koch, Marte, Takatsu, Politte, Wunsch, Grilli, Cotts, Sanders, Jackson, Adkins. There you go!!

I hope Loaiza can bat clean up
HuskyCaucasian
Jim, that sounds about right. THanks for the help. Now the next question: Who doesnt make it? Gload/Burke - One stays, one has to go down.. Sanders - Probably going down Grilli - Mixed reviews. Some say yes. Some say no. Jackson/Adkins - Is the jury still out? Guest JimH
Great questions. Hey, why don't we just get Kirsten Dunst on the team and to heck with all these other guys? Seriously, I'd agree on Sanders, and he had a rough outing today. I wonder if Gload's spot is now in question with Timo Perez being on the squad. They won't really need Gload for OF duty and Perez is a lefty bat. It would seem it'd depend upon Guillen and how much he wants that third catcher. Gload has had a better spring than Burke, if that factors into the equation at all. I'm glad to see Adkins has stepped up and I hope he gets a shot sometime, but my gut tells me Guillen wants a veteran in the pen, and that's Jackson. Hard to see them keeping both Adkins and Jackson ... unless Takatsu doesn't make the team. Grilli, sounds like they're either trying to cut a deal for him with the Marlins and send him down. The plus for Burke is he can catch, play first, third, and left field. But then they have only one left handed bat on the bench in Perez. Or they could keep both Burke and Gload and go with 11 pitchers. Not too far fetched when you figure the days off and inevitable weather problems in April. If it's 11, I'd say the five starters, Koch, Marte, Politte, Wunsch, Jackson, Takatsu. That puts them short on a long relief guy, which is a problem. I don't know if Jackson is a guy for long relief ... that's better suited to Adkins or Grilli. Maybe Takatsu starts in Charlotte for a few weeks to get his s*** together. Lots of question marks. The good thing is, at least we have competition and guys ready to step in if someone falters. Wild Card: a trade. I smell one coming. WHarris1
What does this trade you smell, smell like?
Guest JimH
Smells Like Teen Spirit ... no, just kidding. The obvious one was just made, they clearly needed a 4th OF who could hit left and play CF, we probably all knew something was gonna happen when they cut Marvin Benard. I think there's too much been said about Schoeneweis not getting it done, and I would suspect he'd be demoted to long relief. My guess is a prospect and a hitter (Konerko?) for a starting pitcher. Rex Hudler
There might be one more unexpected move before ST ends. Might not happen, but think bullpen.

Nokona
I think the trade is one of these three: Kong, William Koch, Shoewnew8rs8e12iejtsh.
WHarris1
I don't think any trades will happen before the end of ST, but I hope we deal Koch somehow.

Guest JimH
One thing is for certain ... Williams, and Guillen, want this team ready to rock right out of the gate. One thing that really seemed to get under KW's skin was Manuel's approach after the opening 3 game sweep vs. KC last year. If one reads between the lines, that's one area where Williams really had a beef with Manuel's style ... "we'll be fine, it's only 3 games", etc. Drawing that parallel to this spring, I found it interesting how quickly they cut Benard. That, to me, sent a big message. Either you're ready to go from Day 1 or we'll find someone who is. Taking Shingo as an example, if he's not performing or ready to perform right away, I don't think they'll hesitate to send him down. Koch's case is more complex, his contract for one. In addition, he does have a pretty positive history before 2003. Bottom line, I really feel KW wouldn't hesitate to trade anybody. One thing I like about him, he cares more about the name on the front of the jersey vs. the back. Unfortunately, that causes him to sometimes say inopportune things, or rub people the wrong way. It's an aggressive approach, and sometimes people chafe under that style. While it appears Williams has more patience now vs. when he took the job, it's clear he doesn't have it in abundance. Butter Parque
I don't think Wunsch will be traded. He is a good lefty specialist. What more do you want. Here is my Projected Bullpen: Long Relief: Schoenweis Middle: Adkins Middle: Wunsch Middle: Takatsu RH Setup: Politte LH Setup: Marte Closer: Koch I think they need to keep 7 relievers. Starting Rotation: Ace: Buehrle 2nd: Loaiza 3rd: Garland 4th: Wright 5th: Cotts
