Rooftop Shots
Man, it's getting to the point where I'm getting rather fed up with buying the paper anymore. 5 "Friggin' pages about The Scrubbies, and a walloping 1/2 page on The Sox. The season hasn't even started yet and we're getting bombarded with Everything under the sun about the "North-Side camode snorklers!!!" Is this what we have to look forward to all season? The sad part is that it's not even the Cub-owned Tribune, and still we're getting swamped! Thanks to all who read this who have made me feel welcome since I started posting, and for all the updates that are given by everyone on a daily basis. It's a great feeling being able to read as well as yak about The Sox without the constant North-side garbage thrown in your face everywhere you turn!! SnB
I was thinking the same thing when I opened it up, a full 5 pages on prior/wood. And then not even a 1/2 page on us, oh well, I guess I'm used to it. It kind of makes us a little-family, us sox fans,
hammerhead johnson
It's cool. I read all three articles on Prior. I've been a Sox fan all my life, but I have no problem with the media coverage that the Cubs get in this city. It makes sense.
Rex Kickass
Call it heresy, but I agree. When the Sox win their division, I'm sure they'll get 5 pages too.
BobDylan
It'll be all over soon. Don't worry. WhiteSoxCentral.com launches on April 1st.
The Critic
Honestly, it doesn't bother me much anymore. It's not going to change, so why stress about it? I like reading about baseball, period, so I don't mind reading INTELLIGENT articles even about the Cubs. It's the stupid idol-worship crap that I could do without. whitesoxin'
Well here neither team gets that much press, so I don't encounter it as much as most. But during the season the Sox are always on like page 8 of the sports section while the Cubs are usually on the front. Oh well, sometimes it's nice being the "underdogs". Rooftop Shots
Call it heresy, but I agree. When the Sox win their division, I'm sure they'll get 5 pages too. Let's just hope that they are all in the same day. Even if The Sox win the division,There will probably be a special 10 page pull-out section on The Cubs personal badmitton training camp
Rex Kickass
Here's the painful truth. Papers that make money hit the most popular stories the hardest. In Chicago right now, the Cubs are a 10, the Sox are a 6. Who do you think is gonna get more coverage?
Ishmookie
if the sox beat the scrubs in the world series, chicago will once again be a sox town. (hey, it could happen)
Old Socks
1. Cub fans are stupid; 2. People who read the Sun-Times and really get into their journalism are stupid; 3. The publishers of the Sun-Times are smart. These simple facts should explain everything. Don't sweat it, Sox fans. We just need to get off to a good start. Then, everything changes. Maggs, Rowand, Harris, and Crede will get off to good starts, unlike last year, and everything will take care of itself.
