Old Socks
These obviously include Anderson and Sweeney. Then maybe King, Nanita, Honel. and a couple of others. I think we should rush them through the minors faster than the traditional White Sox five year plan. Those top two look to be special. I would move then both right up to AA until they prove they can't handle it. What do you guys think? Rex??? At least you could scout them them yourownself. Rex Hudler
Anderson and/or Sweeney might be pushed some this year, but if Reed is doing well there is not much of a reason to rush them since, there will be no space for them in Chicago right away. Each player will dictate what pace he can handle.

Unless Magglio walks, and Rowand doesn't live up to his hype, these guys might be in the minors for awhile. While I admit I've grown attached to Reed, Sweeney, and Anderson, and I would despise it to see them go, we might need to since we look pretty much set in outfield. Lee will be here, Rowand is looking to have a great 04 campaign, and Magglio so far seems to be walking away after 04. So perhaps trading 1 or 2 of these mega outfield prospects for infielders or pitchers would be a good idea too? I also think all 3 of them should get some time in at AAA Charlotte, instead of coming from single A right to the majors.
DBAHO
Unless their play warrants it, Anderson and Sweeney will be in the minors for a while yet. The last thing we want is another Willy Mo Pena situation, where we hav one of our young stud outfielders rottin on da bench.
YASNY
I feel like we should take our time with these guys. Let them get solid experience playing in the minors. Don't bring them up until you know they are ready, and then wait a year. This accomplishes a couple of things that are to the long term benefit of the ball team. First, when an individual player arrives in Chicago, he'll be polished and hungry. He should be able to step into the starting line up and be productive from the start. Second, this naturally makes the player much closer to his physical prime. If you let these guys mature in the minors, you will get them for 6 years, through their prime, before they are eligible for free agency. The will also not be arbitration eligible as soon, which will help keep payroll down. This, in turn, gives you financial flexibilty to acquire a key player or two along the way. In fact, with the White Sox budget situation always being an issue, this should be Standard Operating Proceedure.
SkokieSox
I have no prob. trading 1 or 2 of them, if it can obviosuly help are club, and we knows Maggs is staying. Obviously we know Maggs is solid, Lee fianlly came into his own, and Rowand is still a toss up. If we could trade Anderson for some solid pitching, I would have no problem. If Rowand is a toss up in your opinion, why would you want to trade away the one who is a true center fielder.
Jordan4life_2007
I have a feeling that by the end of the year there will be no more questions about, Aaron Rowand. This kid can play, and he'll prove it this year...

FYI, Rowand's not a true CFer. He came up as a corner OFer(I believe RF), and was just put in CF, and he made two damn fine catches to save a Buehrle no-no against Tampa Bay in 2001, if memory serves correctly. Since then he has stuck
DBAHO
Brian Anderson is a pure CF, eventually he'll become an asset in the outfield with his great arm and he's got pretty good speed and range as well I think.

I like Rowand, but my point was if you think he can't cut it, Anderson is the wrong guy to trade. I wouldn't trade any of them though, not at this stage anyway. YASNY
Rowand may not be a "true" centerfielder. But, he is, at the very least, adequate defensively. I think you'll see a much more productive Rowand at the plate this year. He can hold down the position till one of our kids is ready, then move to one of the corners.
