greg775
It hit me today ... The Twins are not going to win our division this year. I have a sick feeling all teams in our division are going to be right at about .500 with the Sox or Royals winning the division by a game over the other. I think Cleveland will finish third and also be in the hunt. The Twinks I feel are going to flop finally. The only reason they won't is that damn dome. The Bones
I think the Twins are in better shape than the Royals are. I don't see how the Royals could finish any higher than third with that pitching staff.
upnorthsox
KC has a killer schedule the first two months, if they don't come out of the gates smoking they'll be done by June 1. Minny has a fairly easy schedule til August and could build up a large lead if we don't play well in the first half, they also have the benefit of KC and the Sox both could go into white flag mode in July if we're far enough back. Bottom line is we have to stick with Minny thru July, if we do that we have a good chance of roaring past them in August. If things go Minny's way they could win the division with 86 wins, for us though it'll probably take 94. That's not impossible but we have to get off to a good start. EvilJester99
Mostly the Sox have to pound on the guys in their own divison mostly when they do play them. I believe if the Sox can beat the Royals and Twins when they meet, the Sox will be ok. Not to mention if the Sox can beat those ever dangerous Tigers and Indians. This team always seems to play to their level of competition, Detroit sucked ass but they could sure handle the Sox last year. Because of this it cost them in the end. I hope that's where attitude makes up the difference for talent this year.
witesoxfan
You wanna know why I like our chances? Look at the Twins bullpen (from rotoworld.com) The Twins have set their roster. Joe Roa will join Joe Nathan, J.C. Romero, Aaron Fultz, Juan Rincon, Grant Balfour and Brad Thomas in the bullpen. Thomas is expected to make one or two starts before Rick Helling returns. If I am understanding this correctly, Nathan will probably replace Guardado, Romero will remain as a lefty setup man, Rincon will become the righty setup man, Balfour will probably take Rincon's spot as middle reliever(coming in during the 6th or so), and the others are just there. Then I look at our bullpen and see that it is probably going to be better then theirs...Koch, Politte, Marte, Shingo, Jackson, Wunsch, and probably Adkins...though it may not be. I still say we win the division, destroy everything in our path in the playoffs, and storm to the World Series.
