ESPN Special on Curses

Recommended Posts

I'm watching this because I'm so baseball starved. One of the people talking about curses said something like "When the fans of a team haven't won for so long, they start to come up with curses".

That just makes me proud to be a White Sox fan because we suck it up and don't make up excuses. Sure curses are cute and fun to write about, but they just make your team more of a joke than they already are.

Yea I saw it as well. They say the Red Sox curse was worse cause the fans take losing "personally", whereas the cubs is "wait till next year." But Then the cubs is worse cause they never sniffed a WS in years, whereas the Red Sox have been in 3 (yet alone a couple gm. sevens) not too long ago.

I watched it.

Personally, I thought that it was just a bunch of Red Sox and Cubs fans b****ing and moaning about choking. They should be used to it by now.

"My team just lost the ALCS/NLCS, so I'm going to go on ESPN and whine and whine and whine about it until I become so annoying that I'm even annoying myself" :bang

BTW, I watched it mainly to see Gonzalez boot that ground ball. That was probably the single greatest moment of that entire playoffs...and yes, even greater then Bartman's botch.

Yes, but history, and cub fans see it the other way around. They'll say it was Bartman's fault.

Did you notice that the ChiSox were not even sniffed at in the piece?

The Cubs are the only team in Chicago don't you know.

Funny, I would say that the White Sox are in more cursed and dire straits than the Red Sox.

Last Championship 1917 (Sawks 1918)

Last WS appearance 1959 (RS 1986)

Last playoff series win? 1917 (RS last year)

I think the media and fans in general think that trading the Babe wasn't Boston's fault but somehow the NOT CONVICTED "Black Sox" guys and the White Sox franchise in general deserve to lose.

:fyou all you Cubbie and Red Sox Koolaid drinkin' motherf***ers.

Yeah I understand and all White Sox fans know this. I'm glad the media doesn't care because then we would be just as bad as the Cubs and BoSox and I would have to slit my wrists.
