kapkomet
:headshake Just went to the Stars/Slackhawks game. Bot these guys are justn ot very good. VandenBusche had two goals, (or half his season goals TODAY), other then that these guys can hardly skate. It'll be interesting to see what changes they make, but if the league doesn't settle into a cap for Wirtz, they might as well just fold up shop to the once proud franchise. knightni
I thought they already folded up shop the last few years... I miss the early/late 90s 'hawk teams. Belfour, Chelios, Roenick, Amonte, Sutter, Suter, Graham, Nicholls, Weinrich, Carney, Poulin, Savard, Murphy. Ahh those were the days.. The Playoffs? Remember what they were like? Pale Hose Jon
If they don't spend money after they come back i might oficially stop caring about this team. Then again i say that everytime something happens with the hawks, but i keep on coming back

EvilJester99
Leave it to the Hawks to f*** up even getting the best chance to get the first pick in the draft. With that tie the other day made it impossible for them to have to worst record. One can only hope for the 18.8% chance at moving up in the draft. Soxy
Yeah, I saw the Stars play the Wild Friday night...The first two periods sucked--it was cool to see a future HOFer in Modano, and the rivalry with the Stars used to having been in MN. But, yuck! Not much impressive playing going on there. I can't imagine seeing them playing the Hawks would be too fab either..

The Stars have had 9 guys out or injured in the last week... while not a great excuse, it sure does take a toll on your team. Hopefully with everyone coming back of of injury or suspension they'll play better in the playoffs. I hear that Wild games are a lot of fun. True??? Alas I do remember the playoffs. How sweet it was to hear the deafening chant in the old stadium of EDDDDIIIIEEEEEEEEEE EDDDDDIIIIIEEEEEEE!!! Speaking about old Hawks players from that period hows about Manson, Peluso, Steve Smith and Stu Grimson?

They dont seem the least bit interested in doing anything to improve the team and until they do then I have no desire to watch them.
Soxy
I hear that Wild games are a lot of fun. True??? Very true.... My best friend has season tickets so we have amazing seats, and that helps...But I don't think anyone loves hockey as much as Minnesotans! Games against Vancover are the craziest though... And I don't know if they show it on tv, but the State of Hockey song is probably the best song in all of professional sports. Dear Gawd, it's just pure kitsch, it's amazing. Yeah, I love thsoe games--not quite Sox level, but I have a very special spot in my heart for the Wild. The Stars game had a great atmosphere since they used to be the Northstars, lots of people where wearing Northstars jerseys. But yeah, it's crazy. I've seen the Govenor at the games (he sat a few seats down from me a couple times) and rumor has it Norm Coleman goes when he's around. But, yeah, Wild games are definitely an experience. Go if only for the song... MINNESOTA WILD ANTHEM We were raised With the stick And a pair of blades On the ice we cut our teeth We took our knocks In the penalty box Our mother was the referee This sport was here Before we came It will be here when we're gone The game's in our blood And our blood's in the game Lay us down under A frozen pond We will fight to the end We will stand and defend Our flag flying high and free We were born the child Of the strong and wild In the state the state Of hockey A big blue line runs around our state A line that can't be crossed The day they try to take this game Is the day the gloves come off We will fight to the end We will stand and defend Our flag flying high and free We were born the child Of the strong and wild In the state the state Of hockey. kapkomet
That's pretty cool! I would really like to go to Minneapolis in September for the World Hockey Championships - talk about an incredible atmosphere... but I think that sold out in like 45 seconds or something outrageous like that. Queen Prawn
GO SENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, that's my only hockey comment for the day and yes, I realize it has absolutely nothing to do with the Slackhawks.

Queen Prawn
Oh yeah, one more hockey comment for the day. I saw the last Cyclones game Saturday at Dayton. They scored their last goal with about 12 seconds left - Brian captured it (I was too short and the net they were shooting into was across the ice) with my digital camera. RIP CLONES ! Maybe you will be a Lazarus team yet.
