Wise Master Buehrle
Ok ok ok, we lost. This could very well show us what our manager is really made of come Wednesday. I know he's not gonna sit idly like JM would have. He can't blame the hitters, but I wonder if he'll be able to re-light the fire under this team that just burnt out. On another note, the Royals now have all the steam. Not a good thing. Why the hell is Tuesday an off day??? That just pisses me off. I'm so frickin scared right now, and I have all of Tuesday to be scared.
WHarris1
Yep, sure, it's a terrible game, but it's on ONE in the standings... We just have to come back and get them on Wednesday. We need you so bad Esteban...

But look at all the positves from today's game. Will be fine.

Jordan4life_2007
You seem to forget how good the Royals are... another quick start? You don't think they are f***ing pumped up? I think the Royals have a good offense and a decent pen. But with their starting pitching there's no reason to be SCARED of them. We lost a game thqat we clearly shoud've have won. That's gonna happen a few times this year. Just happen to be opening day and everybody is goin crazy now..

We'll score a few runs, they have a good chance of scoring a few more.

greg775
It's wild because until we imploded late it was looking like a perfect opening day win. Alomar excelled. Willie it appeared didn't hurt us and had a nice DP with Jose. Jose whacked that RBI double after whiffing 3 times. Hurt hit the ball. Konerko smashed the key double and had another hit. Maggs got an RBI hit after going 0-3. Aaron got on the board with a hit late. Lee was great. Then the ONLY negative ... our middle relief and closing relief costs us the game. Amazing. On a scary note, at the risk of making a blatantly obvious statement, blowing a five run lead is not good on any day. Let's just hope it was an Opening Day thing, cause we know Marte is better than that. We don't know if Koch is better than that, however. I hope we have a short rope on Koch. I mean if the guy can't get people out consistently anymore, get rid of him. I'd rather lose with younguns. If you read this far for some reason, my opinion is .... --No need to panic, but it truly was a horrific way to lose. The game was ours for so much of the pleasant KC afternoon, then BAM we lose. p.s. Why do we never seem to win games like this? You wait, our opening day in Chicago we'll probably lose, 6-1 or something against some hot pitcher.

On another note, the Royals now have all the steam. Not a good thing. Why the hell is Tuesday an off day??? That just pisses me off. I'm so frickin scared right now, and I have all of Tuesday to be scared. I only agree with one point - this will be a good test for Ozzie, to see how he can motivate the team to bounce back. I don't believe that the fire burnt out. It's a tough loss, but if the fire can be doused by one game it wasn't much of a fire to begin with. The Royals have to feel good about today, but they don't have all the steam yet. They have a one game lead. Ultimately, that's all this is. Sure, they'll have some confidence in their offense, but with the hitters they have they SHOULD have had confidence in their offense all along. It's their pitching that will be their downfall. Tuesday would have been an off day if the sox had won too, so that shouldn't factor into anything. We really shouldn't let this game get us too down - there are 161 games left and this game is gone. In my mind, here are the lessons learned: Pollitte should only go 1 inning at a time for a while. Koch should be given a chance to hold a 3-run lead if he's your closer and he's in there already. Marte had a really bad day, but it's only ONE bad day. He'll be fine.

Flash Tizzle
I have a bad feeling that Esteban will get rocked. I was thinking back to late in the season last year when we needed Esteban to be our stopper against Minnesota (twice) and he blew both games. I don't consider the "flu bug" story of him feeling sick before a Minnesota game believable because some baseball writers saw him in a bar after the game. Hope Este can give us reason to forget this game, and possibly bring us some optimism going into New Yawk.
southsider2k5
I have a bad feeling that Esteban will get rocked. I am more afraid of that stiff neck being a problem and having to go Cotts or Adkins for an extended time.

Texsox
We knew the pen was suspect. I feel worse for Mark. He leaves the game thinking he's off to a better start then last year.

DBAHO
I am more afraid of that stiff neck being a problem and having to go Cotts or Adkins for an extended time. It wouldn't be a good situation for them to go into that's for sure. I'm sure we'll see 1 of em or Shingo pitchin on Thursday though. And I think Ozzie's got a lot of confidence in Politte as well especially afta his spring.
