Chisoxfn
http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/col_rozn...?intid=38083150 Very good stuff and he's pretty much right on in my book.
CSF
Good article, but I'm not gonna get completely down on this bullpen. We haven't seen Shingo in an actual gametime situation yet, plus Cotts, Adkins, & Wunsch have yet to throw a pitch. Marte sucked the big one yesterday, but that's more of a rarity with him. Koch faced a grand total of 2 hitters, so he could be better....or worse. And we now know Politte is a 1 inning pitcher. We lost a game that should've been a win, but at least a few questions have been answered.
Chisoxfn
Agreed, he was a little too harsh on the bullpen, considering its still just one game.
guapotaco
I think that we should wait until next week before we completely alienate these guys... like chisoxfan said marte doesnt usually blow a game like that, and i think that hes gonna get over that quick. Koch looked better than last year, Politte had a nice fastball, and we still havent truly seen the other guys in a gametime situation yet. In a week... by the next series against the royals. then we can start bein brutal if it looks as bleak as it did yesterday
Jordan4life_2007
To hell with what happened last year. This is a new year, a new manager, and a new team. Will be fine. 2004 is gonna be a special year on the Southside.
UofIChiSox
And we now know Politte is a 1 inning pitcher. it's been said before, but that is still what I don't get. The guy is a one inning pitcher, yet Ozzie brings him in for one batter, then brings him back out the next inning, which as fine, but then to bring him back out the last inning seemed like an obvious no-no to me. I can honestly say that I crapped in the ninth when Politte came out and got a dreadful feeling in my stomach. We all know that feeling hasn't gone away!!! I need there to be another game soon!! YASNY
To be Honest, I wasn't aware the Politte was a one inning pitcher. Is this based on the two walks after an inning and a third pitched, or is there some history behind this?
