Recipe for Disaster

Seriously, if this bullpen doesn't get a whole lot better real fast this season could be tanked before May.

We've got KC & the NY All-Stars back to back for the next 2 weeks.

There's no room for this BP to breathe & if it can't earn a save or hold a lead in that time the confidence on this team will be shot beyond repair.

Ozzie may not have played the %'s well Monday (espec when Stairs has a 667 OPS vs lifetime against Koch, & Lopez has never faced Koch), but the fact remains 3 guys who had fair to decent ST #'s failed to hold a 4 run lead.

Given the North Side celebration going on this year being a SOX fan is recipe for a summer of sorrows.

When you lack the talent, resort to prayer!

I think we can win with these guys in our bullpen, it just needs to be used wisely. Politte is a fireballer, his weakness is overexposure, he was overexposed yesterday. We all know marte can get it done. As for Koch, I was impressed with his velocity.

I think we will be fine.

I felt better when I could blame Ozzie, but now ...

Playing the %'s:

Stairs vs RH : 934 OPS

Stairs vs LH : 667 OPS

Stairs vs Koch : 1 for 3, 667 OPS

Lopez (750 vs RH, 725 vs LH)

With 1 out, ron, 1,2 swamping Koch for Marte was playing the %'s.

I can't really blame Ozzie any more. Crap.

Now I have to say, Marte just blew it. Say it ain't so?

He had 7 blown slaves (Chip Carey holla!) before the ASB last year.

His fastball and breakers weren't good since the beginning of ST, and hsi control is not what it should be -- when you fall behind and allow Berroa and Beltran to sit on a pitch and you don't have your best stuff, you're DEAD.

Marte pulled this s*** last year in KC as well. As did Gordon early on.

I don't think are bullpen is good in that we have dominating guys, but we have 6-7 quality guys, which is why I think Guillen will have to stick with the hot hand many times this season and not focus too much on matchups.

we have guys (outside of Marte) who could be really good or really bad at any given time. when one is good, leave him in, because there is no guarantee how the next one will do.
