SuperSteve
He should miss more than a month...knees are pretty easy to hurt and take forever to heal. That is really too bad. I hope he makes a full recovery. I read an article in SI and I thought he was a good kid.

SuperSteve
Guys...I have a crazy hunch that ARod might get traded to the Red Sox for Manny Ramirez and cash...
SoxFanForever
I just heard that we might be sending Koch and Maggs to Boston as well for Nomar...
Jordan4life_2007
It's pretty sad people are actually happe he got hurt. This is baseball for cryin out loud.
YASNY
In the top of the third inning against Cleveland Tuesday, Mauer ran behind the plate on Coco Crisp's foul pop up. The 20-year-old said his shin guard got caught as he slid across the Metrodome's new rubber warning track. I'm sorry Mauer got injured, but this serves the Twins right after cheating at the Metrodome for all those years with the A/C system. The fact that it was the playing surface of that atrocity that caused the injury is somehow due justice. Baseball was meant to be played on grass. Exactly rite, hopefully this will teach them a lesson. Big hole in the lineup now with Mauer and LeCroy out, most ppl thought Minny would get off to a fast start with their easy schedule, this mite slow em down a bit. Flash Tizzle
It's pretty sad people are actually happe he got hurt. This is baseball for cryin out loud. He's not crippled. Mauer is enduring a knee injury which faces many catchers.
BrandoFan
You're b****ing again. Why am I not suprised? Solution: Let's worry about OUR players, shall we? -Thomas and his age and back. -Awkward Lee looks like his limbs are about to fall off everytime he slides/dives -Rowand and his love for suicidal stunts -Valentin and his hamstrings -Olivo and his back (tweaked twice last year alone) -Alomar and his knees and age -Wright and his elbow -Koch and the disappearing velocity act -Politte and his recent DL-dom -Marte losing 2 mph off his fastball and break off slurve -Loaiza and stiffed neck -Konerko and his hip/back Be careful what you wish for. Keep on gloating. Next thing you know, half the squad is down ala 2001 and we're fighting for 3rd place. Don't anger baseball gods.

Every team has a strew of players which have injury issues. How do you interpret gloating from my post? Once again, I am isolated for an ill-concieved comment though SEVERAL posters on this thread have gleafully admitted they are happy because of his injury. He is the key member of a division rival, and unless his injury severally impaires his health then I won't care.

Through your post I was replying to all of the momos who are dancing in the streets. It had little to do with you, but with the general sentiment re: injuries. We have a LOT of injuries our-bloody-selvces and 2001 was only a few seasons ago. I wish people wouldn't celebrate just yet. Baseball gods have a way of punishing the over-confident and the callous. Mauer is a big loss. Let's cross our fingers and hope we stay just a little heathier than KC and Minny because in the long run, it may very well be the difference bwteen going home ala 2003 and doing some damafge in the postseason ala the Marlins or Twins in 2002.
