Konerko Stealing

Controlled Chaos

Recommended Posts

Ok I didn't see the game...I was stuck working and just listened to it. However, after reading the papers, it seems like Konerko was really swiping that base. He talked about how the steal made sense with Rownad up and 2 outs, cause if he was nailed, Rowand leads off the next inning and he has speed. He also mentioned that they weren't paying attention to him(did they ever?)

I was under the impression it was a hit and run without the hit. Anyone else have any info or if you watched the game...did they say it was a hit and run?? Has Ozzie spoke of it? I can't believe they actually called for KNoerko to steal a base...

It was a straight steal.

Paulie had been running on either the previous pitch or the one before that, and the pitch was fouled off. So while he no longer had the element of surprise in his favor, he had the element of shock in his favor. I'm glad to see it though, because it has to geek the team up and give the pitcher something else to think about.

You know, Greg Luzinski once stoled home for the Sox.

Konerko said in the Sun Times that it was a good idea, because they weren't paying any attention to him, and if he was gunned down, Rowand would have lead off the next inning. He also said that he probably should have done it in the past. I personally don't mind that aggressiveness, especially under the scenerio of them paying absolutely no attention to him, and a guy like Rowand set to lead off if it doesn't work out.

Yeah, Slownerko stole a base.  The 7th Sign of the Apocalypse and the 4th Horseman have arrived at the same time.

I just turned the tv on and the first Sox play of the year that I saw was PK stealing successfully

it was scary!
