CSF
I love it how on Sportscenter on Monday when the Sox blew the 4 run lead, it was one of the lead stories on Sportscenter, but when the bullpen gets the job done today, they wait until the last 5 minutes to show the highlight. But I know this much; if the Yankees win tomorrow, the Sox-Yankee highlights will be one of the 1st shown. If the Sox win, it'll be on at the end of the show. Such is the treatment of the White Sox. Some things don't change.
SoxFanForever
Espn can really piss me off at times as well. I know what you are feelin.
WSoxShuf
I think they showed the Beltran homer because it was the greatest comeback in opening day history. The game had nothing to it today. Attention comes to the team if they do well.
CrimsonWeltall
Such is the treatment of the White Sox. Some things don't change. Huh? A 6-run bottom of the ninth with a walk-off HR is going to get a good spot and a 4-3 somewhat uneventful game is going to be pushed back...regardless of whether or not the White Sox are involved. Attention comes to the team if they do well. Ask yourself this then: If the Sox had won, when do you think they would've shown the highlight? My money is on the last 5-10 minutes of the show. About the only time I can truly remember ESPN really giving the Sox any coverage (besides drunken stooges going on the field) was when Frank hit 2 homers against Washburn at the Cell to beat the Angels. And I think that was only because it was broadcast on ESPN.
DonkeyKongerko
More often than not, you will find the White Sox highlights (or sometimes just the score) at the backend of Sportscenter when they throw in all the other s***. This has happened many times in the past even when the Sox were still well within division contention. I am pretty used to it by now though and usually only look to BBTN for White Sox highlights. YASNY
Bill Murray, in the movie "Meatballs" started a chant as they were all sitting around the campfire. It went like this: "It just doesn't matter. It just doesn't matter." Remember that. Use it. It helps.
The Bones
Let's face it, this is a business. ESPN wants people to watch so they get $$$ for advertising. What teams have the most fans? Well, Yankees, Cubs, Red Sox to name a few. So those teams will get a majority of the coverage. And honestly, I don't give a s***. I'd rather have the sox be on in the last 5 minutes of SC and win than be on in the beginning and lose. As long as the Sox win they don't have to worry about the stupid SC anchors dissing them. I would say that is why it was such a big deal.

Because this is their home opener it may be the first or second shown, but this depends on the results of other games.
Texsox
I somehow think a major bottom of the 9th rally is more interesting than Koch going 3-2 on a bunch of batters. ESPN places the most interesting news on top. As far as the Yankees and Bo-Sox getting a lot of press, compare the Mets with the Yankees. Winning gets you air time. Call up and demand more Brewer coverage, we all want to see bottom andmid pack team highlights. ESPN covers the top teams and like it or not the Yankee-Bo Sox is a major race. CSF
They did it again...... I watched Baseball Tonight yesterday waiting to see how they would break down the Sox-Yankees game which the Sox won and where Buerhle looked brilliant. I swear if that "highlight" took less than 15 seconds, I probably sneezed and missed it. They showed Mags home run and ARod striking out and showed the final score. Then they went into a 3 minute discussion between the 2 Matsuis in New York. So......on to today. They spent a good 3 minutes breaking down today's loss and was heaping gobs of praise on Mussina and their new savior **Bubba Crosby**. And Mr. Crosby got plenty of praise from "Light Bat" Reynolds. Yet for Buerhle's well-documented 1st appearance in Yankee Stadium, nada. It's one thing for them to get giddy in reporting KC's victory over the 'pen on Monday, or Vazquez's debut win on Thursday, but to not report either victory on the Sox by these tools is reprehensible. So once again I say with clarity....... I HATE ESPN! :fyou
