The Critic
Anyone hear the name Farmer was jokingly calling Koch yesterday? "The Count Of 3 and 2"! He had Rooney calling him that by the end of the inning! It was pretty funny, but ONLY because Koch ended up getting the outs....
Texsox
Hmm, it is a step up from Billy Botch :fyou :fyou
Capn12
Hehe...well, I'll take that nickname all year if Koch continues to get the outs, and close the games. I'm anxious to see him in action against the New York All-Stars this weekend. Heres to seeing Billy at least twice in the 9th!!
OZZ-fest 2004
That's a pretty good nickname.
SAVVY18
He still hasn't won me over completely, so I will still call him "Kock".

Harry Chappas
See the picture of him huggging Guillen after the game. I don't know.......maybe this will work out. I would be happy to order about a 20lb. crow.
flippedoutpunk
I heard crows have to be ordered a day in advance. That gives you time to think it over after tonights game.
Reddy
I think the name fits him. Thats the way he was in Oakland too. He'd always get it like 3-2 and load the bases so there was crazy pressure. Then he'd strike out the next 3 batters... I still think he'll be back on this year. I like him
ERICK515054
as long as he gets the outs....

JUGGERNAUT
He needs a change up or curve to get better than "The Full Count". I think Wed showed why this happens. When he has control of the heat he'seeffective at hitting the corners & throwing less-hittable pitches. He typically throws more strikes than balls, but because he is so dependant on the corners it's usually 50/50 that it will be a ball/strike if the guy doesn't swing. Koch can work an 0-2 count but if the guys adept at fouling the other strikes off he's got a real good shot at working a full count. When it goes full Koch is more likely to come in on the plate & the guy either gets a more hittable pitch or a draws a walk. Koch is good at changing speeds (88-98) but still the pitches have little arc to them. That's not to say they don't have movement. They do have movement, but if your good at hitting inside & outside corner pitches you can try to guess your way to a hit against him. If he could just develop a curve or change that he could use to sink a pitch around the plate, he'd be much more effective.
BrandoFan
If he could just develop a curve or change that he could use to sink a pitch around the plate, he'd be much more effective He does have a curve -- very mediocre one, but it does the job when fastball-slider combo is working....which it didn't last year. Change-up is out of the question. It will go the way Foulke's curveball usually goes -- only 50 or so feet farther.

YASNY
With his "beard" and his penchant for blowing games, the most appropriate nickname would have to be "Billy Goat".
