Maggs to Compete in Home Run Challenge

finally he gets some credit..he is THE most underrated player of the game..i bet not many people outside of chicago has ever heard of him

Joe Torre has. Torre is in love with Maggs. Since the White Sox probably won't pay Maggs what he deserves when his contract is up, the smart money will be on the Yankees to acquire Chicago's best RF'er.

The caption on the pic, gives away what happened to him in the contest if you really want to know, you can just go to Yahoo! Pictures page, I won't say it here, in case anybody wants to be surprised.

Go Maggs, hope this doesn't f*** up your swing for this season...

glad he won, and way more glad that he did this in february which goives him plenty of time to get his swing back in ST for the regular season -

PK's never regained his swing after the All Star home run thing last July.

i hate these friggen things...maggs is no home run hitter...he is at his best when he looks to drive the ball to RC ala edgar martinez...i dont want maggs hitting more than 35 homers because for every homer over 35 ill bet his average drops 5 points

im saying if he gets homer happy his average will come down....because he is at his best hitting to RC field..when he pulls the ball (unless its a hanger or a grooved fastball) you can count on a lot of grounders to SS...he needs to look to RC and turn on the mistakes...vary his pattern just enough to keep pitchers guessing...

that is my one fear of Ordonez baggs. I hope he doesn't get into the mindset of so many other players and builds muscle and just starts swinging for the fence.

hopefully he keeps that Edgar Martinez mentality in him.

Thats what Maggs reminds me of.  He's a lot like Edgar with that live bat.  He can hit the ball to all parts of the field.  Magglio may be the best offensive player in the majors in a year or two.

When was the last time the Sox had the best hitter in the majors? I can't remember
