DonkeyKongerko
Anyone else watching this?? The defense pretty much keeps saying over and over again "George Steinbrenner is a great owner", "Joe Torre is a great manager" etc. They really don't make a great point IMO and I hope the jury rules the same. Chisoxfn
I watched bits and pieces of it. Parts of it were solid and parts of it were lame. Didn't watch near enough of it to make an overall statement, but it was amazing that it took up 3 hours of programming.
WHarris1
Gehy. The jury voted 'no' by a large margin, 10-2.

flippedoutpunk
That is such BS. I hope we spank the yanks the rest of the series so they can shove their 300 million dollar payroll up their pinstriped asses.
CrimsonWeltall
half of the jury was like "what the yankees are doing is within the rules", "george steinbrenner is just doing his best to win". NO f***ING s***. The trial wasn't about if the Yankees are cheaters (they're not). It was about whether or not their ridiculous spending results in a competitive imbalance (it does). The judge should have thrown out their verdict due to incompetence and ruled the way 66% of the population feels according ESPN.com's poll. CSF
This "trial" was held in New Jersey. Eevn though some of the jurors weren't supposed to be sports fans, with the proximity location so close to the Bronx, do you really think anyone is gonna go against the hometown boys? The 2 who voted no are either: A) The non-sports fans B) Mets fans C) Red Sox fans You wanna make it fair: Put that trial in Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Oakland, Milwaukee, or Miami. I think the result would be a helluva different.
Flash Tizzle
From the quick clip I heard on Around the Horn, the executive producer for this trial is notorious for winning high-profile mofia cases. He's also a well known Yankees fan. If this program had any legitimacy to it (highly doubtful), these jurors were "persuaded" into a not guilty verdict. danman31
I watched bits and pieces of it. Parts of it were solid and parts of it were lame. Didn't watch near enough of it to make an overall statement, but it was amazing that it took up 3 hours of programming. Yeah some of it was good, and some of it I already knew. The Pete Rose thing they had last year was MUCH more interesting. Then again, it's not a very entertaining question. Pete Rose has more controversy. Nobody likes the Yankees outside of Yankee fans, it's more split with Rose.
CrimsonWeltall
The prosecution was never up when I was watching. Did Alan Dershowitcz (sp?) make any good arguments?

CrimsonWeltall
Wtf is this trial all about? I'm completely lost.. ESPN had a special on that was a "trial" to determine if the yankee's spending was creating imbalance in baseball. A prosecutor and defense attorney brought in witnesses and asked them a bunch of questions and then a jury deliberated/b****ed. In the end, 2 voted YES and 10 voted NO. How can they justify saying no? All those all stars could be spread throughout the league, but the Yankees snatch them up.

Gene Honda Civic
Crimson, I saw maybe 5 minutes of Dersowitz' presentation, and all I have to say is there is no way that guy would be representing me at trial.... I only caught about 5 minutes it but his weak ass argument was what mad me flip the channel.
CrimsonWeltall
The only things I kept hearing were "oh but the yankees have good management too" and "hey the yankees havent won in 3 years"
YASNY
Newsflash: All the witnesses that testified against the Yankees are missing. They are also not part of the witness protection program.
