LDF
They averaged 82 wins with Choice on the team. That's winning? Winning is not winning games. Winning is winning the division, winning in the playoffs, winning the whole f***ing thing. And whether SEALgep realizes it or not, he hit it right on the head. If you are winning, you are happy. Winning cures everything, does it not? Winning and having good team chemistry go hand in hand, and you usually can't have one without the other. it is better than winning 62, right? i should have said was the sox had winning streak with clayton on the team. but when they were winning, the team chemisty was not there. now i disagree with you on winning breed chemisty, you have a punk on the team and that will tear apart the team faster than anything. BrandoFan
WTF are you talking about? Have you even watched any games hes pitched in this year? He is hitting 95-97, and ALL of his pitches have tailing movement. He is hitting his spots, and has pitched well. I don't know what the hell some of you want...maybe we should see if we can convince a 50-something year old Dennis Eckersley to come close for us, will that make all of you happy? Damnit, I don't mind defending Koch when some of you have a good argument, but have some kind of basis for what you are whining about before you try to post negative things about Koch. Try actually watching the games sometime. You know what? I will never forgive Koch (Konerko) for 2003. BUT.....As long as he doesn't fall behind 2-0/3-0/3-1 on every batter, right now his stuff is goon enogh to be a set-up man. Santiago's double was a function of a 3-1 count -- if it were a 2-2 count it would have been a foul ball or swing and miss. Marte is still our closer when 2 or more lefties are coming up and Politte when 2 or more righties. Give me Koch's attitude over The Royce's, Navarro's or Parqua's. The Critic
Gotta let 2003 go, Brando. It's over, and it's never coming back. Koch and Konerko have been doing a good job thus far in 2004, and I'm not going to let the disappointment of last year deprive me of enjoying what could happen this year. TLAK
Did you hear Ozzie on Rooney's pregrame today? Ask about Valeintin's throwing errors he said he told Jose he got 4 RBIs, two for us and two for them.

This squad has done more laughing and joking around in 6 weeks than they did in 6 years under Manuel's watch. Good times, good times. greg775
I agree Koch is doing well. I won't complain about him til he starting stinking it up royally. And maybe he won't stink this year and will rack up 45 saves.

I don't disagree - as made clear in my post. Both have been solid so far. If they are great this year, fantastic, there will be much to be enjoyed..... but 2003 could have been something very special, and I wll never forget how much those two headcases let me and the entire franchise down. You seem like a very angry person. If it makes you feel better, i saved a ton of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

No I did you sonuvab****! :finger However, now that we're on the subject of 2003, I have to bring it up one last time(after this, the only time I ever bring it up will be because of an accident). Just think, for maybe 5 minutes, about how that team looked during that stretch during late June and early July, and a week in late August when they won about 6 straight over Anaheim and Texas(of course, I was busy moving and was depending solely on my info from a newspaper). You visualize that team and how well they played, and consider what they could have done in the playoffs. You consider what a 1-2-3 of Colon, Buehrle, Loaiza could have done in the playoffs with that offense. Just think about the bullpen that we had. It's crazy....almost scary to think about what that team could have done. OK, I'm done with Zen for tonight...forget the what-if, forget 2003 ever happened, and let's play some more in 2004. BrandoFan
I could have been very special; we could have been bounced in the first round of the playoffs Oh yeah.....why didn't I think of that outcome myself......this JR fella was right, I take back everything I've ever said about his and KW's blunders. Except not really.

Last year was my 1969. Not as dramatic a collapse but to me it still lingers. I will go to my grave saying we had the best team in baseball on paper in September last year no doubt about it. Hey man (woman?), don't you know past is for cowards and losers Mike Ditka said so, afterall, so it must be true. No seriously, I didn't mind losing in 1999 because we had no chance and it was a FUN scrappy young team that inexplicably stayed over 500 for a while. But 2003...man, that was a fan's agony.
