Jim Fainter
I know this is Hawk Harrelson's department, but maybe we can help and think of a few original nicknames. I mean, "The Big Hurt" is one of the all time best. Until I started reading the brilliant comments on this net, I didn't have particularly strong feelings about K-layton, but if the rumors about him are true, I would call him "The Tropic of Cancer." I always referred to our great rightfielder as "Maggie May" after that great song by Rod Stewart, but no one else has. Maybe if our organist would play that song when he comes to bat. HawkDJ
Why is Olivo's nickname Corky? Personally for Colon I would call him Fatolo
cwsox
nicknames hapen when they happen, they cannot be forced. CLee gets called CLee by those who do that because that is how he signs his autographs. And it fits neatly on the scorecard. Paulie will be Paulie on scorecards for years to come, that or PK (for a while I had him as Korn in a slaute to RPS), but when he comes to bat, the fans chant, "Paulie, Paulie, Paulie..." so there that one is.
