southsider2k5
Yeah, I hope we get Kipper back, but I wouldn't be against getting Benson. Benson would be our fourth or fifth starter, so he'd have a lot of pressure taken off. He also has some nice stuff - he's got a pretty good slider, a nice pitch that runs away from lefties (two-seamer?). Does he have a change? Tom Goodwin blows. Unless the Pirates pick up a chunk of Benson's salary, I want no part of him.
CWSGuy406
Why, of all people, did Dusty give Sammy Sosa the 'C'? Yeah, he's a real good guy to look up to - a ME first attitude, a cheater, a lyer (sp?), not a team player. Tisk tisk, Cubbies. :headshake

Flash Tizzle
Maddux f***ing blows! How about another five spot, Pirates.
Flash Tizzle
2nd and 3rd nobody out. Maddox wont last too long today.
CWSGuy406
Unless the Pirates pick up a chunk of Benson's salary, I want no part of him. What is he making? Isn't it near 8 or 9 million? I think Pitt would take on his salary if we gave them Rauch and Stewart, or perhaps someone else. I guess it's all based upon opinion - if you think Benson still has it, then you pull the trigger. If you don't and you don't want to give up on Rauch/Stewart, then you stay with what you have. I guess this is all dependent upon how our rotation is doing by mid-July. Maddux hits the leadoff man, and Wilson hits one to the warning track for a double. Runners on second and third, nobody out!
CWSGuy406
LOL, Maddux' "pinpoint" control is really being shown today, isn't it? :fthecubs
WSoxShuf
Caray: Well the Cubs are down 18-2, not looking good for the cub fans, god we f***in suck. CWSGuy406
Bases loaded, one out. Kris Benson coming to the plate. Let's go Benson, make 'em pay!
Flash Tizzle
Benson would do himself better striking out then attempting to bunt or hit

Benson is making 6 million and is a mediocre National League pitcher at best. That's nearly twice what Toad Ritchie was making two years ago. :fyou KW why don't we have Kip Wells on this team? Flash Tizzle
"Six inches off the plate," says Stone on a pitch to A loser. No dumbass, on the replay it was shown the pitch touched the outside corner. I HATE Steve Stone...... :fthecubs

BrandoFan
Unless the Pirates pick up a chunk of Benson's salary, I want no part of him. No kidding. I'd rather have Wells back. There won't be as much "Reunited!!" fanfare as with you-know-who....but Sox will quietly start beating people.
WSoxShuf
CUbs guys say Prior TJS is false. I do not believe one word this organization says about their golden boy.
BrandoFan
:banghead :fyou Benson No man, it should all go to Chris Stynes. With runner at 2nd and 3rd, no outs, Maddux starts feeding batting practice hanging sliders to this no-hitting, no-fielding scumbag and instead of spraying a drive somewhere, Stynes pops it up, which screws up their entire inning because automatic out Benson is hitting next..... Should be 6-2 Pirates.
