TLAK
I would be very pleased to get out of April at .500 or a little above.
SnB
While, it's true we should at least be 4-2, I'm EXTREMELY pleased going .500 on this tough opening road trip. Taking 2/4 on the road against the league's best team is damn good, especially for a team w/ a rookie manager. Taking 2/3 this series from the royals is what we need though. SoxAce
I am pleased as well. Went to KC where we all know that team never gives up, just to split with them is damn near good considering what we did last year in their field... And of course spliting with a loaded yankee club pitching and hitting wise is very promising. i think going hom with a .500 record can do wonders considering this is a new team under Guillen, and we are at our home field. I think this is really going to help this team.
Wise Master Buehrle
I'm happy. I think this team is gonna look good in this series against KC. Very good.
witesoxfan
Wording is very important here. The way you have it worded(using satisfied), yes, I am satisfied with a 3-3 record. It could most definately be worse. However, had you used the word "happy"(as in, are you happy with our 3-3 record), I would have to say hell no. As I said in another thread, we could and probably should be 5-1. But I'll take 3-3.
EvilJester99
I am happy with the mark so far. Considering if the 1st game they would have blown that lead with Manuel in the dug out the Sox would be in total disaray right now. Ozzie is certainly having a positive effect. zirc
i'm happy considering we didn't get lucky in any of our wins, and our losses were all close.
Rooftop Shots
Have mixed feelings! Happy to have 3 wins, especially since we got a lot of hits doing it in cold weather, where in the past, we had very few. Should not have lost game at KC (No brainer there). With all the walks and errors given up to NY, we should have gotten pounded. We were fortunate that they were probably still not up to par from the Japan trip yet. 14 men left on in game 6.......no reason to lose that one. Even though Vasquez was terriffic, walks caused us 2 runs which if it didn't happen, we would have won. Strange and unpredictable first 6 games. Even though it was rather sloppy,To come out with 3 wins, in cold weather, on the road, and in NY yet, I'll take it! VERY VERY pleased to see much contact with the ball, whether for hits or outs!! Chisoxfn
I'm satisfied. I think the team has played well and while looking at the season it was awful how they blew the opening day game, but overall 3-3 @ KC and NY and I am feeling good. greg775
I'm happy with 3-3 as long as we take care of business at home. I'm hoping Oz will instill the fire to win 75 percent of our home games.
BrandoFan
Satisfied with 3-3. Howeve, if Sox don't show 2000-ian killer instinct and don't take 2 of 3 from the Royals this upcoming series, I'll consider the Bronx performance a fluke. BrandoFan
I agree, the Royals pitching f***in sucks. It's not just the Royals. Look at it this way: a split with Yankees means very little if you can't take 26+ games from Tribe and Tigers and 24+ from Twins and Royals. When Sox were rolling in April and June 2000, as soon as a pitcher started to struggle with control, we put a 4-spot on the board before he could blink. Killer instinct, baby. JUGGERNAUT
The SOX should be 5-1. Vazquez was the only real challenge this team faced in it's first road trip. Two of the losses fall DIRECTLY on 2 players shoulders. One of them defies the odds. No one expects Marte to blow a 3 run lead by giving up 5 runs in the 9th. But then again, Ozzie had no business doubting Koch after the strike out. But the other is like a try out & that's what pisses me off. For years this team goes into EVERY season virtually throwing away wins with the 5th starting position. For about 5 MIL more the SOX can by a reasonable F A every year for this spot in the rotation. That's worth about 5-7 wins & if you look at the standings the past couple of years that's worth a division crown. Danny Wright looked horrible. Bouncing balls 5 ft in front of the plate & throwing wild pitches beyond Olivo's range. Lack of control is an understatement.
CSF
I'm satisfied with the 3-3 record, but now that the Royals are playing in our backyard, I want to mop the floor with them and have them going back to KC licking their wounds.
SnB
I think you have to be satisfied with our record, every game we won was a solid, hard fought win, we weren't given anything. Every loss we looked solid, we looked very good every game except the vasquez game.
EvilJester99
I certainly think if Wright pitches as bad as his 1st outing then Ozzie should move Wright back into the pen and let Cotts take his spot in the rotation.
BrandoFan
No one expects Marte to blow a 3 run lead by giving up 5 runs in the 9th. Marte, bless his heart, blew 7 slaves in the 1st half last year alone. Sox reliever blowing games is a time-honored tradition, an institution really. For about 5 MIL more the SOX can by a reasonable F A every year for this spot in the rotation. 5 Mill?! For 5 Mill you could get a #2 like Washburn. Who needs him, though? There is no guarantee that would lead to any extra wins.......We got Mike Pornio, the X Factor.

CSF
Marte, bless his heart, blew 7 slaves in the 1st half Uh Brando, ya might want to hit the spellchecker for a sec.
Soxbadger
And Washburn in his 2 starts has an era of 8.84, down from over 10 after his first start. Not that I wouldnt want Washburn as our 5th starter, but if we had traded for him and he put up those numbers I have a feeling some might be hanging themselves. UofIChiSox
I'm never satisfied with a loss, but after leading and blowing the first game, I was having slight nightmares about starting 0-6, so I guess I really can't complain after these six games. I won't be satisfied with .500 ball much longer though.
Elcaballo45
Marte, bless his heart, blew 7 slaves in the 1st half last year alone. Thats good stuff. Anyway, our record should be better no doubt, but looking at it from a different perspective, if you told me we'd be 3-3 once 6 road games were done with the Royals and Yanks, I'd definitly take it.... Goooo Sox + #45!
