I do know that it was during this period when Waters got so disenchanted with the "senseless ritual" of live-performing what was becoming some very personal music for fans that were too busy drinking beer and partying to appreciate it. He got to thinking that he'd like to put up a wall between the band and the audience, and voila, the beginning of the next project. ... and now you know the rest of the story. OK, here's an easy one.
