BrandoFan
As momentum-stopping as that scumbag Wright was on Fri....Show was just as bear-down, team-inspiring clutch today. Coming into this game, it was clear Sox wouldn't swing bats well enough to score more than 3-4 runs tops as they clearly lost that first-week intensity....And yet Show doesn't make excuses and basically shut a solid D-Ray squad down cold. Now the team is back to 7-4, it's time for E-Lo to step up and prove to everybody why he should receive a contract extention in the off-season. I'll take 7 inn. 1 ER. danman31
Shoe's run wasn't earned. Wright didn't pitch that bad last game, but more importantly we didn't score. He could have given up 1 run and the Sox would have still lost. It's insignificant.
BrandoFan
Shoe's run wasn't earned 7 inn/1 ER refers to what I want Loaiza to do to D-Rays tomorrow. Time for ace to start acing people. Also....put away the Wright knee pads. He should thank God his ERA is only 6.50. Sooner or later, those liners are gonna start going to the wall. But I digress. Anyway, I noticed I mispelled the title. But even a rube like myself can't mispell that f***ing W Scott gave the Sox today.
The Critic
Yep, giving up 3 runs per start SHOULD keep the Sox in any game Wright throws. The offense was off balance on Friday night - credit due to Abbott. The starters have been pretty good for the most part so far. I'm happy enough. elrockinMT
It is kind of funny how things change as soon as the regular season starts. Coming out of Spring Training it appeared that Danny Wright was solid and Schoeneweis was shaky and probably going to be the weak link. He has done well in his two starts and topped them off with a win. Wright hasn't gotten out of the 4th inning in two games. Ozzie says he is going to stick with Danny and I understand that we don't want panic moves, but if Wright can't deliver soon I would like to see Cotts get a chance. Shoeney pitched awesome but Wright didn't do any worse than Burhle or Garland did the 2 days prior. Don't be so quick to jump all over Wright. CWSGuy406
If Scotty (I can't spell his last name, I won't even try) keeps it up, I believe I shall be eating some crow for dinner. I was one of the many who didn't want or understand why he was put in the rotation. Hell, if he could give us 6 innings of 4 runs or less, I'll be happy as hell with him. YASNY
You have to give Schoney credit. He pitched a helluva game to keep us tied for first.
DonkeyKongerko
When your 4th starter has to come in a day after your 5th starter bombed and flat out dominates that is a real morale booster. It's not very easy to be the stopper in a 4th starter like Scot who also had a rough spring. And so far, this team has not yet lost 2 games in a row. I am damn proud of this team right now and one of our aces pitches tomorrow.

You give up 5+ runs in an inning and that's bombed. 3 runs in 5 innings isint that great but he did his job and that was to keep us in the game, too bad the O didn't pick him up but that was yesterday. Wright has an ERA is 6.60+ The league average is 4.50 give or take. Do the damn math. When he last pitched, his ass was saved by his D and pure, unadulterated dumb luck. And that still didn't prevent him from sucking badly. His strategy? Throw pitches a foot outside, fall behind 2-0/3-1, and then groove a batting practice fastball or a get-me-over change. This s*** wouldn't fly in single-A You asked why Wright and not Buerhle/Garland......Both Mark and Judy had phenomenal starts in the Yankee stadium and in KC. That earned them some good will as far as I am concerned. Buehle is a good pitcher. Garland is a mediocre pitcher. At least they belong in the majors. Wright is terrible and has always been bad -- outside of the tail-end of 2002 when he was solid. If Wrong goes 4-0 with a 3.00 ERA in the next 4 games, it'll be great, I'll have plenty of praise for him. Just don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. Guest JimH
I agree with Brando on this one, I've watched Wright closely in his starts, and frankly I'm not encouraged thus far. When your guy wins the 5th spot in spring training, it's reasonable to give him 4-5 starts to hold the job, i.e. end of April or first week of May. After that, if he's not keeping your team in the game, it's time to find someone else. This team cannot afford to get minimal production out of the 5th spot. Wright, with his stuff, should be able to give you six solid innings just about every time out. That hasn't happened. Further, he's not fooling batters. There have been some very hard hit outs. It's not unreasonable to suggest the backup plan is already on the roster - Cotts.

Munoz and Diaz are performing miracles right now and Rauch/Cotts are getting restless. They may not succeed, but at least it's worth a shot. SoxFan562004
I can't agree more with Brando about Wright. If Rauch, Diaz, Cotts, Grilli, etc... continue to pitch well there's no reason to keep him in the rotation. It makes me sick when a pitcher walks hitters and then serves up homers and DW is the KING of this. Yeah, he only gave up 3 runs in his last start, but it was in 4 and 2/3 innings. I loved it when Ozzie yanked him after the walk.
