southsider2k5
I guess over the next 144 games, we're gonna see if you're right or not. I have a feeling this thread is going back up a few more times in the next 5 months. Oh I am positive it will be back, many times.

hammerhead johnson
I want to destroy this thread like they destroyed that printer in Office Space.
Old Socks
Speaking of Aaron Rowand.....his bat speed must have gone way down. He's late on everything today. He looked awful today.
BrandoFan
Come to think of it, since Sox swept KC way back when, they haven't played better than Manuel's teams did, and only Riske, Broussard, Baez, Tejada and that Toronto scrub giving us gift wins are the difference. :puke Magglio, good riddance after the year. Some 'superstar'. Crede -- Gold Glover you're not. Come to think of it, not much of a hitter, either. Konerko and Rowand - look up 'breaking ball' Loaiza -- where's the 93+ mph heater? You can follow Magglio out the door. Ozzie -- sending Crede while not sending Willie in any of his 3 trips on base? Idiot. Thomas -- buy yourself some batspeed. Growth hormone. Look it into. Everybody else not worth mentioning. Greg Walker....adi-f***ing-os.

Gene Honda Civic
Greg Walker....adi-f***ing-os. Well I missed most of this series, thankfully. I knew I could count on Brando to bring this thread back up, If He hadn't I would have... 8 runs in Canada, even with the favorable(?) exchange rate, just doesn't cut it. #5,6,7 hitters are all below .250 -- We don't have enough pitching to win with that -- Konerko hasn't gone the other way since the first week, 3K's and GIDP :headshake --

BrandoFan
#5,6,7 hitters are all below .250 -- We don't have enough pitching to win with that No kidding. A fun stat: Cubs have outscored the Sox this season -- with a pitcher as #9 We could get Halladay and it still won't make that much of a difference if the 5-6-7 don't start mashing, thus rendering 3-4 less pitch around-able. Thank God for ALC. In ALW, we'd get blown off the field.
YASNY
From what I saw out of the Sox today, the term Corpseball has more life than the Sox team. What a pathetic display.
BrandoFan
As has been said many, many times before.....Twins are winners and Sox are losers, no way around it. Jones and Santana could be out for the season tomorrow and STILL are gonna kick our ass. Ozzie was absolutely pathetic today. Was he too busy working on another pointless, class-free "I am the Manager and you're not!" diatribe? Willie Harris was on base with no outs, and he doesn't send him. But he does send a slower Rowand on Blanco's arm in the 9th. Has Valentin bunt against a RHP in the 1st, but allows him to swing away against a tough LHP in the 7th. Thomas substitution debacle. Then you have the Alomar Buntgate. My God. Timo is fast, Alomar is slow. Timo hits from the left side, Almar - from the right. Timo is a better bunter. There is a good chance his bunt is a hit, whereas best case scenario with Sandy is a sac bunt OUT........That's the kind of situation that makes or breaks a manager. Common sense + instinct = not Ozzie. This game counts as two, so Ozzie lost 2 games today. :puke How many times can Marte choke? Last year he had 7 blown slaves in 1st half alone. So far this season he has 4 BS and 2 losses. He pads his ERA in easier situation, but when push comes the shove......He had Menkevic and Jones at 1-2 and his hand literally trembled as he missed the strike zone by a foot. Mental f***. Lee, Konerko and Joe Slowbat blown away by thigh-high 91 mph fastballs away. Greg Walker's head should roll -- watching Twins punch the ball to opposite field with great Sox success all night long only reinforces this. This team, as it is now, has NO chance in the playoffs. Pedro, Shill, Brown and Co are gonna make Sox hitters look SO helpless with border-line pitcher's pitches, they're gonna wish they forfeited. How f***ing stupid was it to expect a team that relies on miraculous comebacks in every other game against the likes of TB, Toronto, O's, Tribe and KC to improve their play and intensity on a dime and beat a team with heart and brains like the Twins? Positives: Willie's defense and his 10-pitch atbat, which ended with him out-thinking himself and taking a 90mph fastball right there. Thomas - 3 walks and just missed a HR in another at bat. Rowand - HR. Valentin - good bunt, a hard line-out, a double and nice D. Schoenweiss of course. Shingo. Polllitttte. Outside of the reliably brutal Guzman, Twins played very good D. Stewart and JonesCojones in particular. In games like this, D often is the deciding factor. Has been since 2001. Mercy!

Damaso is a great pitcher he didn't have it today, he's the best left handed reliever in the american league no doubt. Crede crushed that ball to right field to the warning track against Rincon so don't blame him for that.

That's the White Sox way, sah! Incompetent managers, minor league instructors, washed up veterans. Manipulative GM protecting his ego. Owner lying through his teeth....Just another day in Soxland. Come to think of it, Sox fans and Sox organization make a beautiful pair.
BrandoFan
Well, we all know Sox are losers who crack under the slightest of expectations. Winners become losers when they join this franchise and vice versa. 'White Sox!' might just replace 'Geronimo!'. Etc. Today the odds are against them with Silva on the mound and Twinkies flexing some of that patented killer instinct the last 2 games. Wouldn't be surprised if Sox pull it out today and go on an unexpected winning streak. Let's hope Sox management recognizes such fluke streak for what it is and makes a key addition or two as June rolls around.
JBN
If the White Sox can win today, Twins only get out of two gaining one game and could get them back on track. 2 games back or 4? Could be a huge game early in the season.
Wise Master Buehrle
Nothing has been corpseball this year. Until today. Some loser on the hill throwing hittable balls, and what do our guys do? "HOMERUN DOES IT ALLLL!!!" This is corpseball. Ozzie, go kick some ass in that dugout.
