DonkeyKongerko
Sorry to the Bruins fans on here but a 3-1 comeback capped with a game 7 victory on the road is pretty impressive in any sport. Hats off to the Habs.
Gene Honda Civic
I've been wondering, Why are they called the Habs? /not a hockey fan.

Gene Honda Civic
I was just wondering the same thing. I've been wonder for about a week, even asked a couple people who I trusted not to make fun of me, who I thought would know. I like pretending to be a know-it-all, it takes alot for me to actually ask a question like that... At least I didn't feel so bad when nobody knew the answer. DonkeyKongerko
I checked on Google. It appears they used to be called or still have the official name of Les Habitants de Montreal. Habs being short for Habitants. If anyone else wants to jump in here...
Spiff
I think it's cause Les Habitantes is French for the Canadiens. Edit: Not french for the Canadiens, but the inhabitants, citizens. It's also why the middle of their logo is an H.

DonkeyKongerko
Here's some more French for ya: bocage is pronounced bO-käzh' This totally ruined an awesome word for me cuz i liked pronouncing it boca-gee.

The Critic
Sorry to the Bruins fans on here but a 3-1 comeback capped with a game 7 victory on the road is pretty impressive in any sport. Hats off to the Habs. I was very surprised to learn that was the first time the Canadiens had EVER done that. Although I guess that when they were killin' everybody back in the day, they were probably never DOWN 3 games to 1..... I do have to give them credit, though - a 3-game win streak with the backs against the wall shows heart. I just wish Thornton had played like he can. I know the injury was slowing him down, but he is SO important to that team, it seems they can't win without him yet.
BridgeportHeather
There's one less team I can pull for during the greatest tournament in all of sports!!! I guess I'll have to go for San Jose and Tampa to square off in the Finals, with San Jose winning it all, cuz they beat St. Loser. Oh, and GO SENATORS tonight!!! HOSSAAAAAAA!!!! Queen Prawn
and just so you know....I used to like the Hartford Whalers....whatever became of them? It's as if they dropped off the face of the Earth!!! From some of the noise coming out of Carolina, if there is a lockout they would likely move or might even disappear forever... Oh yeah, and if management was more concerned with wins rather than punishing Irbe for some imaginary 'dissing,' they probably would have made it (by the skin of their teeth, but still there). Oh and one last thing, Jacques Martin, I have something for you, :fyou !
