Bighurt52235
Hey guys, new poster here but I've been reading for a long time. Anyways, I just thought I'd add that this is the last series we play the Yankees this year thus making it even harder for this game to get made up if they do call it. It's going to be a long time before they even think about calling this game, unfortunately. And to think I was ticked because this game was on the U and I couldn't watch (I goto school in South Bend but I'm from the suburbs of IL) "Welcome to our unique little troop" Quote from baseball movie. Who can tell me which one?
SoxFanForever
Hawk just gave an update. The tarp is still on the field but he says the game will get in. DAMN! Since was Hawk a meterologist? I hope he is wrong. Rain please for the love of crap :banghead
gettysburg32
If this game was postponed then we would be screwed anyway. Since Buehrle threw so many pitches there's no way in hell he would be able to pitch in a double header tomorrow or Thur. Who would start in Buehrle's place, Cotts? If you're going him you've eliminated your long relief man. With the day off yesterday, the starting pitchers should ok. If we're assuming there's is a doubleheader tomorrow ok Garland last threw last Wednesday and was scheduled to start tomorrow night anyway. Wright threw on Friday. If he starts game 2 on Wednesday that means he's going on four days rest, that shouldn't be a big deal, it's a normal rotation. Scho would go on Thursday, on four days rest as well. Mr. Showtime
Hawk just gave an update. The tarp is still on the field but he says the game will get in. DAMN! I don't see it that way. Sox have to see if they can hang with the big boys. You're playing without 2 starters and big hitters in Thomas and Jose. It'll mean a lot if they can battle back and atleast tie this game. Which is one reason why Minnesota wins alot, they never feel they're out of a game.
Gene Honda Civic
I was at the detroit game last season, where we got shelled early, there was a long rain delay, and we came back.... we lost but it was a valiant comeback.
Fotop
Thanks, today is a pretty awful day to make my apperance I agree, however I'm hoping the Yankee pitchers come out stiff and the white sox make a game out of this one. I do have to say I've been a sox fan all 20 of my years and this is the first time I've been this excited at the beginning of a season. Even though the sox may lose today, they're playing some great ball and I have faith they'll get at least one of these against the bombers. Othawise we're gonna hav to make a rally, A Rally McFlurry.

SoxFanForever
He is getting his info from Roger Bossard one of the best in the game. Lol, did you just refer to meterology as "the game". Sorry, not trying to be an ass but I just found that funny south sider. Anyways, I hope he is wrong. Maybe we can get a second opinion from Tommy Skillethead (Tom Skilling). Comiskey has the best surface and drainage in all of baseball. I also have never heard Bossard be wrong about a rain delay.

And to think I was ticked because this game was on the U and I couldn't watch (I goto school in South Bend but I'm from the suburbs of IL) Welcome aboard. If it is called then the Sox would probably make it up in the next two days with a doubleheader. The key is whether it rains so hard that the field is no longer suitable to play cause with this size lead the umps are going to wait as long as possible and hope the game can get in. Here's to hope it just keeps pouring and pouring. If they don't get another pitch in for about another hour, then I'd say the odds are good, especially since forecasts say the weather will only get worse. Plus I don't think the outfield grass can take too long of a downpour.

SoxFanForever
Anyone think the reason Buehrle had trouble was because the delays to start the game and maybe he had trouble warming/threw a lot of warmup tosses?

SoxFanForever
I know it was over 40 in the first inning so im guessing around 50+ right now. He is done if/when they come back.
