Bighurt52235
One HELL of a game from Jon Adkins tonight. Absolutely huge.
greasywheels121
This really makes the Sox managment's decision awfully tough about to who to send down now...Solid outing.

Mr. Showtime
Dump Koch. It's clear as day. Not when they have to pay him. We don't throw cash around here.
danman31
Not when they have to pay him. We don't throw cash around here. Yeah, no way in hell he is gone. Besides he is probably worth keeping around for that kind of money because of what he CAN do. I doubt he WILL do it though.

Gene Honda Civic
Didn't Cedeno go to STL? I don't know -- I just know that was the original deal.
SoxFanForever
I don't know -- I just know that was the original deal. We can always take that Kaz Matsui off their hands. He has been nothing but trouble since he showed up in NY
DBAHO
NY Mets. There were rumors of a Billy Koch for Aaron Heilman trade in the off - season. I think Brandon Looper has been strugglin for them as well. If we hav to throw in a lower tier prospect or sum cash, we should do this deal. Capn12
......why should I not be surprised....Mark Buehrle pitches like absolute s*** at home....and we are trying to get rid of Koch. SSDD like always with some of you folks.

Send Wright down to Triple-A and have Adkins become the 5th starter.
flippedoutpunk
Adkins runs out of gas too fast to be a starter. He looks promising though.
Gene Honda Civic
Send Wright down to Triple-A and have Adkins become the 5th starter. I feel like I'm repeating myself --- Adkins had thrown 26 pitches prior to tonight. He threw 39 tonight, and was clearly gassed.

Well, then have Adkins start for the 1st 3 innings or so and then Wright can take over on long relief. That way, Wright can overcome his phobia or whatever it is of the first 2 innings and become a solid member of the staff. Send Cotts down to Triple-A until he gets over his propensity to issue walks like crazy.
southsider2k5
Adkins runs out of gas too fast to be a starter. He looks promising though. He had pitched an 1 2/3IP over a 15 day span prior to today. He also didn't pitch but about 10 innings IIRC in all of spring. Of course he has no endurance, he hasn't been stretched out yet. Then you would be just wastin the bullpen, Adkins is doin very well in the pen, leave him there.
Harry Chappas
Anybody have a copy of moneyball? I did not see Koch pitch last evening, in the paper it didn't go into anything specific. Looking at the dealings with Oakland though I am not sure we were draped in as much fleece as MR. Bean portrays.
Reddy
I think Brandon Looper has been strugglin for them as well. looper actually has a 0.00 era in 8 IP this season... thats not too bad. 2 saves to go along with it.
Reddy
I have moneyball, it's an amazing book and billy beane is a true baseball genious. es billy screwed the sox over time and time again because he plays baseball quite diferently than kenny does. It's hilarious how he cheated KW out of a top prospect just by calling him and saying that the Oakland As didnt want him... Kenny bailed and Billy scooped him up. Funny stuff. Yeah Billy's philosophy with closers is that they're BS. Put a hard-throwing, otherwise mediocre pitcher in your "closer" spot, get him 40 saves and suddenly you can make huuuuuge money off him by dealing him. Yeah, he f***ed us.
