i will take Buehrle over Santana any day of the week and twice on sundays.

I'd take Santana anyday of the week over Buehrle and thrice on Sundays. Our hardest statistical day for a win the past few years have been Sundays. I might take Buehrle on a Wednesday though.

I don't. I was obviously wrong. We have no one who can shut them down. Our pitching is overrated. Probably because of the poor offenses we faced in our own division. It's obvious our pitching isn't as good as advertised. All I know is that come playoff time, I wouldn't bet on a White Sox advancement.

--Why the pessimism? We still have the best record in baseball. We had enough trouble against the poor offenses in our division the past few years when we COULDNT WIN OUR DIVISION. I wouldn't bet much on a White Sox advancement in the playoffs either because anything can happen. I do think we can reach the Series, however. I really do.

Pitcher A has a 2.96 ERA, Has allowed 10 HR's, 1 Wild Pitches

Pitcher B has a 3.48 ERA, Has Allowed 16 HR's, 7 Wild Pitches

Can you guess who player A is and Player B is?

You might be the first person to ever use wild pitches as a statistic to compare pitchers.

Buehrle is the best lefty in baseball and probably the best SP in the AL right now.

Exactly, right now. Santana's ERA is on the way down, while Buehrle's ERA is on the way up. Santana's numbers weren't that far off last year from where they are this year. He's been an amazing 2nd half pitcher the last few years. This isn't a shot at Buehrle, but Santana is a beast.

Santana is a hell of a pitcher however he isn't the same pitcher that he was last year.

Tough to maintain for a whole season the dominance he had last season. His peripherals are still dominant, and his ERA should be better than it has been.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick Santana. Big K pitcher. Reason why he has lost some of his dominance is because his defense behind him is pretty damn bad. Especially with Torii out now. If Santana had the White Sox defense behind him, I'd say he'd have a sub 3 ERA. A better one than Buehrle might I add.

Of course people won't admit this and will yell at me for stating facts.

And if Buehrle didn't pitch in a hitters paradise...you could throw different arguments between the 2 all day.

Does pitcher A have a Cy Young?

Yah, Pat Hentgen won a Cy Young award once too. Does that mean he's better than Curt Schilling, who has never won a Cy Young? I don't know who the better pitcher is, but I'd find a better measuring stick than the 1 Cy Young award.

Nitetrain, I thought that you were just a basketball numbskull.  I had no idea that you were so versatile.

Basketball numbskull for saying that Joe Johnson improved on defense and is now a pretty good defender?? Go to any real basketball messageboard and say that and they'll laugh at you then continue to ban you.

Naah, you misunderstood. Let's not forget that you have been s***ting on these here threads for quite a while now. It doesn't all boil down to just one particular conversation.

Sometimes it's better to just read and NOT respond. You know what I'm saying?
