I know we had a bunch of polls like this a couple of months ago, but the draft picture has become a little clearer since then. Only a little though.

I didn't include any players becuase there are too many to choose from, and too many different scenarios. I just wanted to get a feeling from everyone here, since the recent free agent moves, what should the bears do with thier pick now.

I'll bump our old mock draft thread, to see how accurately we got it, this weekend.

I voted D-Line, but here's my wishlist, and these are all possibilities, even though some might be slim, for the first round.

1. Roy Williams - Good speed, good size. Even with the need on the D-Line, if a playmaker is available at 14, you take him.

2. Mike Williams - I don't know if he's won his case to get back into the draft, but if he is at the 14th spot on Saturday, I'm grabbing him instantly. Definitely would have been next years Number 1, if not for coming out a year early.

3. Vince Wilfork - He seems like he might be just a dominating D-Tackle. He's very quick, especially for his size. Seems like he could be a playmaker on D.

4. Tommie Harris - Everything I've heard is good from this guy, however, I wasn't able to watch many Oklahoma games over his career, so I don't know...

5. Trade UP - Jerry Angelo should make a ballsy move and trade up for a 15+ year Franchise Tackle in Robert Gallery, or trade up for a dominating TE in Kellen Winslow. I'm sorry, but I doubt many linebackers in the NFL could man up with Winslow 1-on-1.

At 14, I think the Bears will look at it one of two ways. They will draft one of Harris and Wilfork, or they will go best available. If both Wilfork and Harris are gone, but Steven Jackson is on the board, Steven Jackson is a Bear IMO. Same thing can be said about WR with it being so deep this year. If both Philip Rivers and Reggie Williams are available to Buffalo at 13, I see the Bills taking Rivers and the Bears taking Williams(once again, assuming Wilfork and Harris are both gone).

If Philip Rivers drops past Pittsburgh, I will be very f***ing happy(unless the f***ing Jets then trade down so the team they trade the pick to can get Philip Rivers, and if they did that, they would be a bunch of assholes). This IS on the Bears though, so enough with the Bills.

The Bears realistically are looking at Wilfork or Harris. If they trade down, they are probably looking at Andrews from Arkansas or Starks from Maryland, depending on where they trade down to...hell, I could even see them drafting Ben Troupe too if they trade down. I think trading up would be dumb in this case...the only way you trade up is to get a franchise type player who will be with you forever and will turn your team around(ala Mike Vick), and IMO, the Bears probably don't have enough to get the #2 pick from the Raiders, considering that Roy Williams(who I think they want badly) will be looooong gone by 14, and the Bears will need the #2 pick to guarantee that they get Gallery. You don't trade up to get a Kellen Winslow Jr or anyone like that(UNLESS you are a team like New England with now 3 picks in the first two rounds and are coming off a very good season(I think winning the Superbowl counts as a good season)...if they want, they can trade up and draft a Sean Taylor type, or they can stay put and get Matt Ware or Sean Jones with the 32nd pick along with another good player). You usually end up doing more harm to your team then good doing that.

So if you want me to use the ol' tarot cards, put on the funny looking hat, burn some s***, and make a prediction...

I say that with the 14th pick in the NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears draft Vince Wilfork from the University of Miami(FL)

I voted trade just because that is fun, and it looks like we can get quality anywhere in first round, and I dont know a whole lot about the trench guys, which it looks we will get. I just hope we dont get another player who has the same stuff happen to him as Columbo.

Way to narrow it down

Well it won't be an offensive player, I'm pretty sure of that. They want a stud D-Lineman, Mike Williams bein barred could really hurt em, cos now Wilfork and Harris who could hav slipped to the Bears, will prob get taken earlier.

I voted to trade down (It HAS worked before) so here's my prediction:

Bears:

1st rounder (14)

2nd rounder

Aaron Gibson

for

Miami:

Adawale Ogunleye

1st Rounder (20)

If this does not happen, the Bears will be drafting Vince Wilfork or Tommie Harris.

Who would Miami be moving up to take?

Phillip Rivers?

Im not sure but It would be helluva trade. BTW, I read somewhere that the Pats and Bears where in talk of swapping a player and a 1st rounder for the 14th pick since the Pats have 2 late 1st rounders. The Pats apparently want to move up and get Stephen Jackson.

I doubt they are as interested in Stephen Jackson as they were previously seeing as how they have Corey Dillon. As for the Bears pick, I have no opinion until I see who is left on Saturday when their selection rolls around.

That's moot -- They just traded a second rounder for Dillon.

IMO, that is not a trade down for the Bears. It is more of a trade up for the Dolphins.

Then again, maybe that's a North Dakota thing. :D

That being said...I just don't understand why Miami makes that pick. I personally do not want Miami to do well(for obvious reasons), but I mean, that's like the Twins rumored trade of Jacque Jones for Matt Mantei during the Winter Meetings. I'm just curious as to why Miami wants to get rid of one of the better looking young DE's in the league who seems to be a KGB type of player. Is it money or what?

Anyways...Cheat...the reason Miami would do that would have to be to get Andrews. I think Rivers will be gone by 14, (and really, he could be long gone by 14...in fact, John Clayton thinks that the Chargers are looking to trade the #1 pick to the Giants and then draft Rivers at 4...I think that's a bit of a reach, but I could see it happening)

Last year's draft was solid. I'm looking for more of the same from Jerry.

4rth Round: Best DT available

5th Round: Best G available

6th Round: Best DB or LB available

Why???? What is the point of drafting 3 straight DB's when we have Zoom, R-Dub, Peanut, Bobby, Mike Brown and Mike Green???? We have to draft a WR in the draft. So, here are my final prediction scenarios:

If the Bears trade down, draft Lee Evans in the 1st and a Dwan Edwards in the 2nd.

If the Bears stay put, draft Vince Wilfork or Tommie Harris in the 1st and RaShaun Woods in the 2nd.

If the Bears trade up, draft Tommie Harris/Kenichi Udeze in the 1st and RaShaun Woods in the 2nd.
